Question about Fax Machines

I have a Canon MF6500-series in my office that has stopped sending faxes. I've checked the phone line and I have dial tone. Control Panel shows no warning indicators. Is there a fix?

Thanks. Phone line was plugged in the TEL jack and not the LINE jack.

Please let me know the exact error message. One fix for such kind of issue is to uninstall and reinstall the printer and configuring the fax setting. Make sure no changes in the default area code and phone no. has been done in your fax setting by some other user.

Thanks

What have you done to reset it? Try unplugging it and deleting the drivers on the computer and reinstalling everything and see if it starts working again. If not, let me know

Check if the printer is printing, if it is not printing at all, that is the cause.

Test the phone cable and try a different socket.

If you do not find anything wrong, then reinstall the drivers from disk.

Hi my canon fax-JX500 displays 'line in use' and has no dial tone. Can you please tell me how to fix the problem?

Unplug your fax from the phone line. Plug in a phone. Dial tone? Yes? then either fax is bad or the phone wire is bad.

No dial tone? Phone line dead.

most likely the fax is incorrectly set up as an extension in a multi-line system rather than a single "telephone". probably the fax injects digits such as a leading zero. the setup needs to be corrected.

When sending fax on canon pixma MX350 i get a NG error REPORT what does this mean

Hi There!
Comm Error will show on the display if there is an issue with the phone line like an interference or it's not connected directly to the wall jack.

What you can do is check if the machine has a dial tone or try to call the fax # where you need to send the fax, just check if it's ringing. Second before loading the paper make sure that the display shows date & time. Then load the document in the tray the display should show enter fax # & start. Start dialing the # then press start.

Hope this helps.

HISSS on line; no dial-tone; no fax in or out

it sounds like you may not have any dial tone. the hiss [white noise] you are hearing is from the dsl modem.try plugging a regular corded phone into the jack to check for dial tone.if there is none, call your phone company.also try plugging the fax machine into another jack where you know there is dial tone.
good luck
