You don't say what kind of email provider you have. A box with red x either means your browser is not letting the image load or somewhere along the line the image is not allowed to link.

A quick fix to try is to right click on the box where the pic should be and scroll down to Properties. This will reveal if the image is "linked" to a url. If it is, you can copy the url and forward just that instead of the imbeded pic.

Copy the url and paste it into a browser to see if YOU can load the pic manually. If it doesn't load manually, then there's something wrong at the source. Try it and see if anything happens.

When I open e-mails I get the text, but only blank squares where there is supposed to be pictures

Whatever email collecting program (or your online email program, ie - Yahoo, Hot-Mail, GMail, etc...) your using has the setting set to not allow for pictures to be downloaded. Go to the security settings and check the box to allow emails to download content (pictures)

Certain pictures and vidoes dont open or play

Hello fgskas,

This is due to not having the correct plugin on the computer to view these pictures and videos. You may want to try downloading flash and java updates. You can get flash from www.adobe.com and you can get java from www.java.com.

is the email account receiving those videos a corporate or company email account? If so, the mail filter in your company might be blocking/dropping the videos sent to your email account. Check with your email administrator for any block content under your account.

try it like this:
Alt+Print Screen your signature, and paste it into paint. Crop the edges so that your signature is all that is seen and save it as something like c:\sig.jpg.
Then edit your html file to contain something like this:
<html>
<body>
<img src="c:\sig.jpg" height=80 width=80><br>
