Unable to install adsl modem drivers on windows 7

Just visit the manufacturer website and download the drivers for the modem.
If you are unable to locate the specific drivers for the device then i would suggest to use some driver scanning software that will search for the drivers online and will show a list of the device specific updated drivers. WebRepOverall ratingThis site has no rating(not enough votes)

You can get Driver Scanner 2013 here:

My firmware Siemens Gigaget SE 261 ADSL doesn't work with Win7 .How I can solve this problem

Everything I see says this modem is too old to have updated drivers to work with Windows 7. I would contact your ISP and see what they would say to use. Sorry! I see nothing wrong with the device except Windows not liking it.

I put a windowsxp cd in a dell optiplex gx260-to replace windows 2000 and added memory to 512.The network adaptor driver i installed from dell doesn't work 3com or something like that.it had utilities...

on the drivers download page on the dell website it looks like the second one on the networking list is the one you should install, if that doesn't work you might like to ask dell for the right one.

thinking about the memory, to run xp properly you need a minimum of 1G ram, anything less and it will struggle on a fully updated system.

there are other peripherals that conflicts with this modem. try to plug this usb modem alone without other peripherals connected and check. if the problem persists then the modem itself has a problem

I have a Siemens 4200 ethernet/USB ADSL modem on a machine running Windows XP. If I switch to a new machine with Windows 7 64-bit, will I need a new driver for the modem?

If its connected via ethernet you may not need an updated driver of the modem but and updated driver of your LAN card. If its connected via USB then yup try the manufacturers website for the modem divers

Error no.797 occurs when i tried to connect to internet through dial up modem

Hi,

797 - The modem could not be found.

This error occurs only in Windows 2000 and XP. The error can occur if the modem is no longer visible to the system, and may be a problem related to the modem driver, or system conflicts that cause the modem to work only some of the time.
In some cases, rebooting the machine may "solve" the problem.
If the modem is an external and is not powered on when the system is booted this error may occur: shut-down, power on the modem & re-boot the system.
If the error persists, check to see if there is an updated driver for your modem.

Thanks.
