Ram upgrade on Sony Viao PCVRS420

Hi

I want to upgrade the ram on my machine but I keep on getting conflicting information. The box has a max memory capacity of 2GB and 4 slots for RAM sticks. Can I upgrade to 2GB by using 2 x 1GB PC2700 RAM sticks or do I have to use 4 x 512 MB PC2700 RAM sticks? The crucial website (crucial.com) lists 2 x 1GB as being guaranteed compatable but other sites list as 512 MB max. Really confused and would appreciate help.

You can use even 1 stick of 2GIG of RAM or 2 X 1GIG of RAM or any combination will do for as long it will just be a max of 2GIG since that's the max support of your motherboard....

Either way.
But you have to be sure to get the right memory.

How much ram can i upgrade my compaq presario? I keep getting conflicting info. The tech at Office Depot said I was maxed out 2Gigs and upgrading any more would shut it down. But I'm reading forums...

One good and easy way to find out for sure how much RAM your computer can hold is to go to WWW.CRUCIAL.COM and run their SCAN MY COMPUTER feature.

This handy utility will scan your hardware configuration and tell you exactly how much RAM you currently have installed and what type it is.

It will also tell you how many RAM slots are fitted on your motherboard and what the maximum memory capacity is for each slot and the total capacity for that motherboard.

If your computer does have room to add more RAM, it will provide you with specific recommendations as to exactly what type and size of RAM stick to get to maximize the memory capacity and performance of your computer.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

Wont to upgrade graphic card my p.c has 2gig max ram in it wonts should i upgrade to to preform its best cheers mike

Depends on what kind of hardware you have
-Memory- 2 gb ram is "ok" if you use windows XP but if you have Vista or Windows 7 you should have a minimum of 4gb ram.
-Processor- if you have a Dual core processor you are ok, if you have a p4 or p3 you dont want to waste money on a new graphics card because it will not help you get better games, your processor and memory will slow you down instead.
So my advice is, if you have a OK computer, go ahead with buying a new graphics card if you computer is old and slow, DONT buy a new card! put your money on +2gb ram instead (cheap, and gives you more benefits) or maybe buy an "upgrade package" with new motherboard-memory-processor.

Hi, wondering if I should upgrade my sony vio pcv-rg22z and what the max upgrade on memory etc is?

Hi. I hope this information helps you out.

The rz22g model has a max memory amout of 1 gb, using two 512 mb slots.

So you can get 2 512mb pc2700 memory modules for it, as this would max out the memory just make sure that the memory is of compatible type and build. You can't just go get cheap pc2700 ram and put it in, it might not work at all.

As far as other upgrades, it has an ide interface, so probably won't be able to find a drive bigger than 500gb, but that's a pretty big drive right there!

For processors, It appears that a 3.0 ghz pentium4 w/ht is the best you can get to fit, that's if you can afford one. They can be a pricy investment, and in the long run, you could almost buy a new computer that has dual or quad core performance for about the same price.

You can get any brand of pci video card, i recommend nvidia, as it has better performance than an ATI card. The newer the better as far as models go, just get the one with the most memory for what you can afford. Most good video cards can cost about $100, but if you go to tigerdirect, they have a Galaxy nvidia gtx430 on sale right now. It has a giabyte of ram on the video card, as well as having vga, dvi, and hdmi jacks, so you can hook it up to just about anything nowadays.

I hope this has helped make some decisions, and hope that it goes well for you.

Can I do a memory upgrade on Sony VGC -LS 37E?

the specs for your computer, it states that it is equipped with 2gb of memory 2x1gb and max at 2gb, so I doubt that any higher memory upgrade installed would work, or else it would cause your system to crash or even damage it.

How to upgrade RAM memory what to buy and is anything else be upgraded before this

It is a very simple thing to upgrade your Ram which is a great idea since you have only 512 MB. I suggest you buy at least 1 GB or more if you can afford it. Go to the link I am posting and let them scan your computer. They will tell you exactly what you can install and the price. This is a reputable site I use all the time. This will require a download of the scanner tool which is perfectly safe. http://www.crucial.com/

Want upgrade my ram in a sony viao PCV RX280DS Pentiume III

Well the made that model for a few years now. Chances are it will only go up to 1gb total. The processor is another story. You need to take the case apart to get to it,good luck, & then find out what it has as far as what socket number it uses. Then go find a better one with the same voltage requirements.

Need to add ram

The RAM is behind the system cover, and rather then try and explain things, as I seem to have a hard time doing with others, I will direct you to your user manual, it has instructions on upgrading the RAM.

If you've misplaced, or did not receive, your manual, it is available from the Sony Website, and a direct link to product home page is http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=PCVW600G

Click on the VIAO User's Manual, it will pop open a new window and the manual will take a few mins to load. Be sure you have Adobe Reader installed to view the file as well. You will find a section marked 'Upgrading your VIAO' with a set of specific instructions to upgrade and change your RAM.

Hope this helps!
