Question about HP LaserJet 3055 All-In-One Printer
I access the Laserjet 3055 AIO through a router in a network configuration. I'm able to print fine, however, when I try to get to the Toolbox, error message says "cannot connect to the device" and advises me to check connections. How can connection be working for printing but not toolbox?
It sounds like a Firewall configuration issue:
Ports 5225-5226 need to be open on the router and on your machine.

Without being able to see your machine, I'm going to make an educated guess at your problem. Many times, when a printer is used over a network, only the printer driver itself is actually installed on each user's machine. Utilities, such as the HP Toolbox, may not be installed. If your network administrator allows it, you could download and install the complete printer software package off the HP website, which I'm highly confident would solve your issue. If not, I'd advise you to contact your IT person and have him/her install the complete package for you.
