Question about Yamaha HTR-5730 Receiver
I’d like turn on/off my Yamaha HTR-5750 AV Receiver by my Universal Remote Control. I subscribe to Time Warner Cable service. The cable box supplied by Time Warner is a Motorola converter model. I need the 4 digit Yamaha HTR-5750 device code. The number that is listed by Time Warner for HTR-5750 is 1276. This code only turns off the 5750, but is unable to turn on the 5750. What is the accurate device code?

You can connect the VX7 to the 5730 using an RCA Y cable like the one shown in the picture below. You get your one connection for the receiver and 2 for the VX7. These are available at any electronics store. Remember that the cable should be long enough to go from the receiver to where subwoofer will be placed.
Hope this helps. Let me know.

Solved problem with Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver. My daughter had inadvertently changed the program to "Direct Stereo" mode which allows sources to bypass the decoders and DSP processors so you can listen to 2-Channel PCM and Analog sources. Nothing to decode digital audio in this setting!
