You need to completely delete and reinstall your drivers and Smart Panel software. Delete the printer from the [Printers & Faxes] menu in [Control Panel]. After that, go again into [Control Panel], then into [Add Remove Programs] and search (in alphabetical order) for the Samsung Status Monitor. Thenclick on [Remove].

After you are finished, reinstall from the original CD keeping in mind not to connect the unit untill the installation procedure tells you to do so.

Be blessed.

I don't know how long it takes for a solution to appear here. I posted one, then had to login, so not sure it got posted.

Anyway, the problem is the Windows firewall program, or any firewall program running on your local computer. The samsung monitor has two-way communication with the computer, and the firewall will stop the communication, which is why it appears to be non-responsive, when in fact it is disallowed from responding.

Turn off the Windows firewall and use a hardware router to isolate your LAN from the WAN. I posted a more complete answer, if it appears, then I won't need to elaborate further.

    Here is more info

On the router, select an internal address other than the default, which is usually 192.168.1.1

Use one of the approved PRIVATE address blocks from this list

    0.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255

    172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255

    192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Also, choose one that ends with .1, for example 192.168.10.1 and use a netmask of 255.255.255.0 so the LAN has 255 local addresses (Class C subnet).

Then hand out addresses from 192.168.10.150 and hand out 50 addresses, enough for most SOHO (Small Office Home Office) networks.

This is more secure, in my opinion, than running Windows Firewall, or any firewall on the computer itself, especially when your LAN has active devices on it (like the samsung printer, or a network attached storage device) that need to communicate to and from your computer. The Windows Firewall interferes with this, and caused me the same problem you are describing.

Reinstalling the software may help, but I doubt it. Just remove the WIndows Firewall.

If you are tired of seeing the Windows popup about how your machine is at risk, go to the control panel, run the Security Center application, turn off the firewall and under the Resources area on the left, "change the way Security Center alerts me" and remove the checkmark from the firewall, or the other items if you wish.

If that doesn't fix the problem, go ahead and turn on the firewall and try to solve the problem another way. I ended up with McAfee personal firewall, and it does NOT interfere with my LAN access, and the firewall sort of comes automatically with the virus protection built into McAfee.

Whatever you do, get a router between your LAN and the public WAN, that's a minimum requirement for safe use of the internet.

Last night I turned my printer off by pressing the on button. The sreen said, " Shutting Down". I pressed the on button this morning expecting it to start but it didn"t. How do I start my printer? Thanks...

Try this:
1. While the printer is still turned on, unplug all cables and cords at the back of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord also from the wall outlet...
3. Wait for two minutes.
4. Reconnect power cord to the wall outlet first.
5. Press and hold the pound (#) and six (6) buttons.
6. While holding down the two buttons, reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and after two seconds, release pound and six buttons.
7. Turn on the printer if it turns off...

Acer Aspire 8930 windows premium loses network/win exe

No, it is not a hardware error, it is purely software, i would recommend, trying to turn off your network\wireless adapter by switch, and then turning it on after a min or so.

Good luck

Program not responding

A quick search of google told me that SSMMgr.exe is a program used by Samsung for monitoring the health status of your printer. It shouldn't be hanging your system though!

The first step would be uninstall and reinstall of the printer software and drivers, checking the samsung support site for the latest driver version if there is one and reinstall of the printers supporting software should fix it. Failing that you should be able to re-install the printer drivers without this SSMMgr.exe software monitoring program - more than likely just a simple bug in the software that came too light after a recent Microsoft Update or some other software Install or possibly an irregular printer event has disrupted its ability to monitor itself properly. Most printers have a flashing light or similar indicator when they're low on ink or out of paper or other, anyway the program SSMMgr.exe is the cause not RAM install, though it is possible that vital info for the program was stored on your previous RAM chip that could have been lost during your recent RAM removal and install, or was it install extra RAM only. No reseat or removal of any previous RAM chips occurred, did it?

My computer starts but before booting it shuts down.

You may have lost part of your windows program. If you have a system restore disk, you can run a system restore and probably fix your problem.
Some of your windows files have gotten deleted. When windows gets to this point all windows knows to do is restart. A virus can cause this problem.
