While running a virus scan on my Toshiba A105 laptop the computer totally went dead. I assumed the harddrive had crashed but in addition to that I get no power, no LEDs lighting, nothing. I checked the external power supply and the power input for shorts but they all seem find. What has happened to the power on my Laptop?

My dell laptop is frozen. I was down loading anti virus software and it crashed. I had just scanned it for viruses and it said I was infected with the viruses worm and trojan horse. All my desktop icons...

I guess the main thing we should consider is how badly you are infected. If all your icons are gone because you're that badly infected then I assume you can't regain internet access. This being the case I can suggest two solutions. 1. Go to your nearest library and download a copy of SDFIX and/or MALWARE BYTES and store these on a flash drive. Then you can clean your computer from this flash drive. 2. If you're babdly infected and cannot use a flash drive then you'll need to slave your present harddrive to an uninfected harddrive. Probably best done by a reputable computer repairperson. Give these a try and hope for the best.

Thanks

Toshiba satellite A105,My wife dropped laptop now when you try to start I get error message operating system not found, try to boot to bios and get several quick beeps

Harddrive has probably crashed or the connection have become loose. Flip the laptop over and look for the Harddrive assembly. Usually has 1 screw holding it in place. If you feel comfortable enough - remove the screw and pull the HD out and slide it back into place. See if the connections are simply loose.. If that does not work you probably need to replace the HD.

My Toshiba Satellite A105 freezes at logon screen. The computer was running fine with NO problems what so ever prior to this even. I run frequent virus scans, my computer stays up to date. Any advice?

Hi, I recommend to you to reinstall the operating system with the disc of recovery that accompanies your equipment, it is possible that the this corrupt operating system and because of it the machine freezes.
