Question about Mitsubishi Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have a LVP-HC3000 DLP projector. I bought it new, I use it for sports and movies. It is 2.5 years old but it has <1500 hours on it. I do run it in "brightest" mode as do not have great control of light. It will not start up. When I press power I hear soft rapid clicks for about 5 seconds and the fan slows. It repeats this 3 times then shuts down. The lamp never turns on. I reset the lamp time to see if it would start up. It still won't start. I do not remember if there was a flashing green / red status status before (per manual indicates lamp need replace) but I never saw a warning on the image about lamp life. Is this as simple as replace the bulb? Thanks, Ben

Message says airfow blocked, turns on for about a minute then shuts off

1. Remove the air intake filters on your DLP projector. As explained by InFocus, a manufacturer of LCD and DLP projectors, each DLP model will house the air filters in a different location. However, for most DLP projector products, the filters are accessible by unclipping a simple plastic latch.

2. Wipe the air filters with a small cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol.

3. Blow compressed air into the unit's vents. This will force some internal dust out of the DLP projector, but you may still need to open up the unit for additional dust removal.

4. Unsnap the main cover from your DLP projector. Because DLP projectors need periodic lamp replacement, the main cover is rarely secured with screws or bolts. However, if the DLP projector's cover does not snap off, then you'll want to inspect the unit for possible screws or an alternate release latch.

5. Reach in and remove visible dust globs with a paper towel. Be careful to avoid touching the lens, as fingerprint smudges can diminish DLP projector image quality. If you accidentally smudge the lens while picking out dust blobs, wipe the lens with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.

6. Spray compressed air into your DLP projector to remove any lingering dust particles.

7. Close up the projector and reattach the filters.

My rca dlp doesn't turn on

You probably need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.

Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.

Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.

Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!

Samsung DLP white spots

Are the spots fixed or do they move with the image? Verify that all venting is clean of dust. If the spots are fixed and upon close examination are a square shape, The device is overheating of failing. If the spots are moving with image it's a front end problem, and can be overheating as well.

FAN RUNNING, BUT WON'T TURN ON

Just a guess, if you can take the cover off that has the buttons on it, be gentle and see if the ribbon cable has come loose. Philips had the same problem with one model of theirs.
