Kyocera FS-3900 and FS-4000 Prints very faint. New printers affected
After installing the toner waste bottle and toner cartridge, Kyocera FS-3900/FS-4000's can exibit "faint print". Solution is to reseat the Developer assembly (which is what the toner cartridge sits in). No need to remove the toner cartrididge. Lift up on the toner cartridge and the Deleveloper will come with it. Reseating the Developer solves the faint print issue. You can also clean the square contact on the left-side of the Developer by removing it completely.

There is one more thing to this helpful advice. There are a sponge roller underneath the drum unit. I you remove a black panel with white rollers, you can remove the sponge roller also. Then you'll be able to clean the roller. It makes the drum unit's life more durable.

Hi - What have you tried?
Process to check - simple but worth going back to basics
1 - Remove toner and reseat
2 - check you have removed all transport tags stickers etc
3 - Chck all arrears where a sensor could be blocked
4 - try a 2nd new toner (1st may be faulty)
4 - if there is a waste bottle or OPC drum attached to the toner itself ensure it is seated properly and fully locked into place
if none of the ablve work consult a printer repair or IT company
Check your waste toner box. At the side of the printer is a container for the extra toner to be stored. Everytime you change your cartridge you need to change the waste toner container. Carefully open side panel and remove waste toner bottle. There is a button you need to push do not force the bottle out.
Remove lid of new waste toner bottle and put into place and close side panel. Follow link for further details or use your setup guide that came with the printer on how to install the waste toner bottle. http://usa.kyoceramita.com/americas/jsp/upload/resource/15865/0/2000D-3900D-4000DMLIIR1.1.pdf
Try shaking gently the toner cartrige!!! This may help mix the toner which may be stuck together especially if the printer is not used often enough or stored in a place that is not as specified (humidity, ventilation, etc...).
I think the two lights flashing together indicates waste toner box missing or full but as this printer doesn't have a waste bottle I assume it means the processing unit (ie the drum bit) needs replacing.
Hi, Sound like drum unit is out off position.
Switch off printer.Open left side door, remove waste toner bottle and push drum unit(with grej lever on it) in printer to proper position. If grey lever is not in proper position, drum will be not locked.Place waste toner bottle in position.Switch on printer.
