Re: Black lines across my printer paper
Potential driver error; reload driver. Once reloaded, go through all setup procedures [alignment of print head, etc]. Do not skip steps. The printer utilizes the setup features [user interface] as a calibration which is fundamental to its performance.

Either the black cartridge is bad or the fuser roller is bad.
Pull out the black cartridge and gently pull down the flap that runs across the cartridge.
Look at the drum inside. If you don't see a line running around the drum or a clump of toner on the drum where the black line appears on the paper, your problem is a bad fuser.
Run a half test. Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print something, anything When the paper is 1/2 way into the printer, open the cover. Pull out the toner cartridge. Look down at the paper. Does it have a black line on the right side? If yes, replace the cartridge. If no, replace the fuser.
do the lines go off the edge of the paper?
if so either the black drum unit or the belt has gone bad.
if the lines stop before the edge of the paper it could be on the print job itself.
go through the menu and look for demo pages or the configuration pages to print and examine them.
This is a laser printer and does not have a print head to be cleaned. Fortunately it does have a laser cartridge that can easily be replaced and solve all of your problems : ) The replacement cartridge is a HP Q2613A or the high capacity HP Q2613X. Your local Cartridge World should have a high quality refilled cartridge that will treat you very well and save you money.
yes you have to catch printer making the line and then as a page is being printed you need to open door to stop paper after green cylinder(drum) as it is entering fuser, then you need to remove paper from printer without pulling through the fuser, if you see the line then rub your finger across line up and down page, if it smears at all then its the cartridge if not then the fuser
try this 1.when the printer start print turn off the printer after the paper go on side the printer to make paper jam 2.open the printer and pickup the paper out slowly 3.see the print area on the paper if the black par appears on the paper that mean the drum unit faulty if not the fusser unit faulty
