The camera is a USB standard and serial connect camera and what we recommend for XP users as well as our new software is to look into purchasing a smartmedia card reader that connects to USB port so that you are able to transfer images using the reader as opposed to connecting camera to PC. The camera connection is not truly XP compliant.

To learn about the new and free version of Olympus Master 2 software go to: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/oima_softwareMaster.asp Click on 'Free Download' to register your email address to receive an email containing a link to download either the Windows or Mac version. This software replaces all previous versions of Camedia Master 4.x and Olympus Master 1.x and is XP and Vista compatible.

I need olympus c-500 zoom software for windows 7

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

You don't need a driver.

My camera

Hey peek5544,
It sounds to me like you don't have the right drivers installed on your computer that support this camera. I have included a link to the manufacturer where you should be able to download what you need. I hope this helps!

Olympus 3000 Zoom digital camera

You have to edit the file:

c:\windows\inf\srusbusd.inf

You'll have to remove two semicolons.

The section:
[Manufacturer]
;%MfgNikon%=ModelsNikon
;%MfgEpson%=ModelsEpson
remove this semicolon=>;%MfgOlympus%=ModelsOlympus

Must become:
[Manufacturer]
;%MfgNikon%=ModelsNikon
;%MfgEpson%=ModelsEpson
%MfgOlympus%=ModelsOlympus

And

The section:
[ModelsOlympus]
remove this semicolon=>;%USB\VID_07B4&PID_0100.Device%=Olympus,
USB\VID_07B4&PID_0100
must become:
[ModelsOlympus]
%USB\VID_07B4&PID_0100.Device%=Olympus, USB\VID_07B4&PID_0100

After this, if you have already the Olympus C-xxxx in your Device Manager,
uninstall it and run again the new hardware wizard. Let Windows XP find the
correct driver. Windows will attempt to frighten you with a catastrophe
prophecy. Just ignore it and go on (it works perfectly).
You're done. Now your Windows XP will see your Olympus C-XXXX Zoom
without any additional software.

Olympus C-3000 download Help

I also have a c-3000 zoom and tried to use it with my vista laptop for the first time (worked fine for years on xp with the software). I got an error message saying something along the lines of "Your camera is too old to work with Vista" (not the exact wording). I bought an external card reader, and you should probably do the same.

Doubt the software will work on Vista. If you do have the disk, before you click on the install program, right click it and use the "XP compatability" mode. I would dual boot to an XP partition to take care of all your XP needs. Its a bummer but that is what Im doing...

hey,

just to know exactly what you need:

Windows xp sp2: connect you camera, open windows explorer and a new folder in my computer will be present called 'removable disk'.

You can open that folder and copy the pictures to you picture folder in my documents.

If you need software to edit pictures there are lots of them out there: paint shop pro, googles picasa2 etc.

I prefer gimp my self, it is open source and works very well. Almost like adope photoshop and it is totally free here is a movie about gimp:
