Epson TM-U375P error light flashes 3 times

The error light flashes 3 times but there is no paper jam. It only happens when doing validations (top loading). The printer is out of warranty and I have already ruled out the main PCB and printhead cable.

SOURCE: Both Ink & Paper lights flashing!

Hi JayBirde Do the lights flash Together (not alternate) and is it a quick flash (0.1 second on 0.1 second off)? If so, check the Status Monitor for a message. If it says Fatal Error or General Error, then you have a task on your hands! If the lights flash alternate (0.5 second on 0.5 second off) then this indicates a maintenence error and the status monitor should say parts inside your printer have reached the end of their life - or something similar. This much easier to fix with an R220 Rescue Kit from www.TheServiceManualShop.com - use their search to look for R220 Rescue. If you can't find it, just drop them a line and they will create one for you. Delivery is via instant download so no waiting around to get your machine fixed. If you have a general or Fatal error it means the printers head can not move using the norm,al amount of force - i.e. something is in the way. You can check a few things: Ensure their is nothing in the path of the print head - paper, foam from the pad, head lock not retracting, toy soldier on manouvers in the mechanism etc Chech the encoder strip ( a grey-ish looking plastic strip, near the drive belt for the print head) is clean and attached. Check the lid for the ink cart cover is full closed.

Epson stylus photo px660 with a paper jam error after dismantling it displays a printer error with all lights flashing

Paper jam problems can occur due to strayed, stuck bits of papers in pathway of paper tray, outlet, roller etc. I would recommend cleaning the paper inlet, outlet, and other possible areas to avoid a paper jam situation. I have observed that most people fan the paper pile to keep them dry or non-sticky. It's a wrong method because fanning the pile of papers make them go haywire and often lead to paper jam.

The flashing lights are a "Maintenance request error" or a "Fatal error". Most of the time it is a "Maintenance request error" which means the waste ink pads need to be serviced. You can reset the waste ink counter but the ink pads will need to be serviced at some point.

you can try following points.......

1.turn off the machine for at least 5 minutes and disconnect the interface cable to the computer.

2. push and hold down the "ink" button and the "paper" button and turn the printer on.

3. When the "paper" light flashes quickly release both the buttons and then immediately press and hold down the "ink" button only for at least 10 seconds.

**You will need to try this several times to get the sequence correctly.

The error light on the Epson TM-T88IV keeps flashing whats wrong with it?

The following is from the Epson Users Manual:
Troubleshooting
No lights on the control panel
Check the power supply cable connections and the power outlet.
ERROR LED on (not flashing) with no printing
If PAPER OUT is on, the roll paper is not installed or is near the end.
If PAPER OUT is off, the printer cover is not closed properly.
ERROR LED flashing with no printing (and no paper jam)
Printing stops if the head overheats and resumes automatically when it cools.
If overheating is not the cause, turn the printer off, and after 10 seconds, back on.
Removing Jammed Paper
CAUTION:
Do not touch the thermal head because it can be very hot after printing.
1. Turn the printer off and press the cover open button.
2. Remove jammed paper, reinstall the roll, and close the cover.
3. If paper is caught in the cutter and you cannot open the printer cover, open
the cutter cover as shown in illustration J.
4. Turn the knob until you see a triangle in the opening. This returns the cutter
blade to the normal position. There is a label near the cutter to assist you. See
illustration K.
5. Close the cutter cover.
6. Open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper.
Cleaning the Thermal Head
CAUTION:
After printing, the thermal head can be very hot. Be careful not to touch it and
to let it cool before you clean it. Do not damage the thermal head by touching
it with your fingers or any hard object.
Turn off the printer, open the printer cover, and clean the thermal elements of the
thermal head with a cotton swab moistened with an alcohol solvent (ethanol, or
IPA).
Epson recommends cleaning the thermal head periodically (generally every
3 months) to maintain receipt print quality.

It sounds like your print head is overheating. Clean as instructed above.

Epsom TM-U220 Error Codes

From the manual its probably one of this item.
-printer temp is too high

-cover is not properly closed
-print head is not in the correct position
-paper cutter is not in the correct position
-paper jam

Try turning off the printer, remove the power cable, turn it on again for 5 seconds to reset it. Connect back power cable, press the feed button and turn it back on. The printer should do a self test, turn it off and on again after the self test. It should make the red light go away.
