Question about Akai CTS2550 25" TV

AKAI MX 150 - connection with DVD

I am trying to connect a DVD player to my Akai MX 150 TV. I have the AV cables in and the DVD player does power up and the display indicates that the DVD is playing (the numbers show on the display); however the picture does not appear on the TV screen. Do I need to have my TV tuned to a certain channel or is there another cable that I need to connect? Hope somebody can help. Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Screen powers up then goes blank after 2 seconds

Hi, was there a resolution to this? I am experiencing the same problem with LCT3285TA purchased at Radio Shack in Media, PA. Radio Shack has refused to service the unit and has put me over to Akai for the manufacturer's warranty. I'd like to know what to expect and if this problem with the Logo coming up and the unit shutting off/restarting can be easily fixed, thanks.

I think your Video Drum needs to be replaced since it's bad. You can get replacement Video Drums on the Internet.

SOURCE: i am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

ruettab,

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

cheers,
mark

I am trying to Connect my TV no: ALT2260M to Geepas DVD but not connected how can i start functioning?

Check its connecting wire [AV cord] first for any internal breakage to its conductor strands. Try with a new AV cable. After connecting the cable with TV and DVD player, switch the input to TV to AV. Power On the DVD player. If all connections are OK, you should see the brand emblem display of the DVD on TV screen. If not, make sure that there is some fault, either with TV or DVD player. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

Hello, here is a sample for auxilary connection for the chdvd300: . Use the AV (Audio/Video) cable
provided to connect the DVD player to
your TV as shown in the diagram.
. Your TV must be equipped with AV
inputs like those pictured to the right in

. If your TV does not have AV inputs, you

I'm confused how to connect my DVD player with the TV. which cables connect where. I dont have a user manual.

Mukhhe,

good day,to connect your DVD to TV screen follow this steps.

1) prepare your RCA cable ( 3 colored cable yellow/red/white)
note: always remember this

yellow = video
red and white = Audio (left and right)

2) at the back or front display of your TV screen you'll see RCA socket marked as "AV1 input" "AV2 input" etc... if your screen is only mono sound you can only see two sockets Yellow=video white= audio

3) at the back of your DVD player connect the RCA cable following the color code yellow to yellow white to white and red to red. after you connect the cable to your dvd player now connect the other end of thr RCA to your TV screen input.

make sure you'll connect it to "A/V input" not "A/V out" then after connecting all the cables, from the remote commander of your TV screen press a button indicating "A/V" some mark as "TV/AV" press this button until your screen display the back ground display of your DVD player.

cheers,
mark

NO sound and NO cable signals

Is your tv connected to your cable box through HDMI, AV, or component?
_____________________________

If its through HDMI then your cable carrier needs to load updated frimware in your box to communicate properly with your 2005 tv. The firmware loaded in your cable box needs to be "reverse compatible" for first generation HDMI from your 2005 tv. If your using AV or component hook-up and there's no sound then re-check all of your audio settings within the tv's menu. Also recheck the cable-wire your using and proper input/output ports.

ON your dvd player, is your tv connected through component, AV(rca) or HDMI?

If its through "component" then you need an extra audio cable to and from the DVD and tv.

My philips dvd player has stopped playing CD's and DVD's and on the display screen it shows "root". i have had this DVD player for 16months. Can you help me?? cheers

Usually "ROOT" is an indication that the player has read the DVD.

ROOT means that the DVD is in the main menu screen.

Sounds like the DVD player is ok, but you may have a loose connection somewhere.

Check all of your AV connections between the TV and DVD.

Also make sure that the TV is set to the same AV channel as the connection you are using.
E.G. if you have connected the DVD to the AV 1 socket of the TV, make sure that the TV is set to channel AV 1.
