Bios password I bought this laptop, it was repossessed. Its a new laptop but the previous owner put a bios password on it, and i'm unable to format this laptop because i'm unable to boot sequence. I've had people tell me that with this particular brand...it cannot be done. If anyone has another opinion, it would be greatly appreciated. acer aspire 3690 Thx

Contact the previous owner for the password. If there is no hdd password available, purchase a new hdd and put an OS on it. If it is the bios password; this may help;https://www.techenclave.com/community/threads/how-to-bypass-bios-passwords.4273/

Need to reset bios password on Daytona-a rev 3.3 mboard

Enter the BIOS at power on, rather than booting windows, and go through the settings. Put in your old password and enter a new one as prompted on the screen.
If you bought this used, and there is a password from a previous owner, you can go to the system board and remove the small jumper that maintains the password lock for the BIOS. This should allow you access to the BIOS if you're locked out by a previous owner's password.

How to remove BIOS password

If you have the current password, use it to access the bios password screen in your BIOS menu and leave the new password blank.
Assuming you don't have the BIOS password, there is generally a white jumper connecting two pins on the system board. With this removed, the BIOS password will not lock out changes to the BIOS. This is especially useful if you've purchased a used system that the previous owner locked out.

How can we crack hdd password in bios

You can ask the real owner that put the password lock on the hard drive for it. Otherwise, it's a useless laptop to you. 99% of the laptops that have a password on the hard drive where the current owner does not know the password either stole the laptop or purchased it hot off the streets. The real owner put the password on the drive so that if the laptop is stolen the thieves cannot get to sensitive data.

you can't reset BIOS passwor by flashing the BIOS. The password is stored in a different chip. Contact Acer for the master password if you are the owner of the laptop.

I bought this toshiba satellite m20 in an auction. its asking for an administrator password. HOw can i remove the password?

Is the BIOS asking for a password or is Windows asking for a password? If it's the BIOS then you might never get the password off. Seldom can you remove the password from a laptop's BIOS without already knowing the password. If it's Windows that's asking for the password, then try reinstalling your operating system. This will get rid of the password and anything else that may be lurking around in the computer from the previous owner.

When I power up my laptop (Acer Aspire 5532) it goes to a screen that says: hard disk security Please input password for WBC WS1600CEVT-222CT I was not given a password when I bought this laptop. Is there...

You are out of luck. HD security keys cannot be reset and without the proper key, render the hard drive useless (formatting the drive will not help either).
If the person you bought the laptop from cannot provide you the key, you need to replace the hard drive with a new one. In this case, I would ask the previous owner for proof of ownership, it may be a stolen laptop.
