Re: operating system not found on my laptop
Unfortunately the OS got corrupted and you need to re install the Operating system.
There is no other way to fix the problem but use the recovery disc.
If you dont have a recovery disc you may want to contact the manufacturer of your laptop and order one.
Or if you can use a retail version of Operating system and once finished installing you may need to download the drivers of your laptop on the support site.
Hope this helps.

hard drive is missing from the system. Or, just does not recognize it.
obvious - Remove any USB devices like drives and any media from disc player.
Its trying to load, but can't find bootable hard drive, CD, or USB...
the hard drive and reseat (reconnect). Check BIOS by pressing an F key during
boot. Look on the screen for correct Function key. Might be F2 key. Verify
BIOS recognizes the drive. It must be listed! There is no going forward if
it's not. Check boot order and make internal hard drive first. Save and
There are many error messages that appear on your screen that make your heart flip, but I suppose the one that is certain to bring you out in a cold sweat is when you boot up your pc and a message appears saying Operating System Not Found! You have good reason to get into a cold sweat with this error message because, nine times out of ten, there is a serious problem and that problem can be one of many, such as: -The BIOS hasn't detected the hard drive -You have an incorrect Master Boot Record -The hard drive itself is damaged
Boot sequence isn't enough. You have to turn OFF (disable) the boot from network. The error your seeing is result of the network boot rom not finding PXE server to boot from. Again, be sure to disable boot from network.
Run diagnostics on the harddrive. if possible reseat the Hard drive, i.e take it out and put it back again. and then try installing the OS. remember you have to boot from the laptop to install OS. Hope you are doing it correctly
Boot into the BIOS, I think you hit the Delete key on Dell's to get into the BIOS, but I'm not sure. You should see some type of message at boot that says "To enter setup press XXX" Where XXX is the Delete key or some other key.
Once you're in the BIOS setup see if your HDD is listed. You may also find the option to reset the BIOS to default. Generally speaking this will not hurt anything and may be worth a try.
