In order to help with this, can you please post the model number (should be KV-27xxx) and count the number of blinks of the standby light? This standby should be blinking a repeated pattern. That will tell me the circuit in which a problem was detected.

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks for providing the model number. Can you check to see if the standby light blinks a repeating count? Also, is there sound at all?

    Thanks,

The 4 blinks usually means a vertical deflection problem. Look inside for a small flat IC attached to a heatsink. It willbe marked LA7837 or something similar and have about 11 pins. That should be the vertical IC. Resolder the pins first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC.

    Keep me posted.

I have a sony grand wega 65" and i am trying to figure what is wrong it has a light blue X in the middle of the screen and it does not come off

Hello
Your Sony tv is locked I thinks. Try to reset your TV by the flollowing method.

Unplug your TV from AC mains wall socket, and let it be in that state for about 10 minutes or so. Plug it again, and switch on the TV.
While holding down the "Reset"button on the remote control, press "Power" button on the TV. [The TV will turn itsef off, the back on again]. Release the reset button. [NB: You must hold down the Reset button on the remote control until the proess is over.]
OK.

CAN ANYONE HELP i'm having a problem keeping the timer from going off and shutting the whole tv off. My kp-46wt510 sony widescreen from 2003 is doing the same thing, picture is bowed in the middle and...

Hi,

Most likely you have turned on the sleep function. 2nd button from the left on the top of the remote hand unit. Keep pressing until "sleep off" appears on-screen.

Or

Timer in user's menu is activated to turn off TV a specific time. Go to timer menu and adjust timer, then push cancel on the remote, this should reset timer to zero. Same with current time, adjust and select cancel, this should reset current time.

If you do not have the original remote, you are in trouble. Service tech will have remote.

I have tried to turn my television on and the status light blinks for about a minute, you can hear the TV try to start up and then the whole system shuts down without anything actually powering up. Also...

Unplug the tv for about a minute - plug it in and press the reset button on the front of the tv - hold it until the light blinks. The set should come on in a minute of two - if not try the same routine again.

PT-52LCX65 Lamp Meter

Hello.. meseta809

first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.

try this to see if it work's

Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions:
Ok, so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)

“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”

Again, you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work if you try to do it both from your remote!

Tv trys to start. you'll hear audio for two secounds, no picture, then 8 flashing lights, repeats after a few secounds 8 more flashes etc,etc

There is a problem in the audio circuit or the high voltage circuits. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. Check also the flyback transformer T8005 or the associative components around it or associated with the high voltage circuits on the D board. Try also unplugging the unit for an hour to allow the unit to reset and make the unit work. It sometimes resolves start-up issues with the unit.

RCA P61960 projection screen. no picture, no sound. tries but shuts off.

It will depend on the Chassis number you have but it sounds like a bad Deflection module or a bad Convergence power supply module. The Convergence Power supply module is on the left looking from the back mounted above the deflection module. On newer models the picture tubes can short and put these sets into shut down mode ( Three Trys). Start by unplugging the CRT modules off the neck of the tubes one at a time. If it doesn't come on you have eliminated the tubes. There will be a Red and Black set of wires from the deflection module to the convergence power supply module. Unplug it. If it fires up then it's the convergence power supply module. If not it will probably be the deflection module. The flayback transformer is a common problem along with several bad caps towards the front of the board. Let me know if this fixes it.
