My machine was a hand me down and I've decided to do some projects. It hasn't been used in a long time and I've gone through and checked all the parts and the only problem I've found so far is the foot lifter is completely seized up. The upper part isn't stuck, just the actual bar that the foot connects to.
Pick up some "good" quality sewing machine oil or liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Lube (NOT cooking oil, motor oil, 3-in-1, WD-40...). Actually, while you are doing that it would be beneficial to do a thorough job on the entire machine. After all these years of no use or TLC, it probably needs it.
Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...
Have you tried any 3 in 1 oil works great on most older models
Do NOT use 3-in-1 oil on a sewing machine! It eventually turns gummy and seizes the machine even more.
mineral oil will also work....any standard machinery or mechanized equipment will vary as to its type of lubricant...but all will use it occasionally...optical fluid etc..viscosity is always the key with sewing machines thinner is always better as a rule you will have less sticking and less metal wear...all of our shoe repair sewing machines from the smallest to the largest will be oiled then cleaned periodically but definitely must be routinely maintenanced..feet are not lubed only the above attached mechanics which operate the up down movement..inside of bobbins are an exception as they hold material fibers and can collect dust and particulates..I now use canned air on bobbins...I do stand corrected on 3-in one household oils, as you are correct it does get a little gummy if not removed sooner..it is a form of crude oil and not meant to be a standard in the industry...the key here is the word "eventually"...as in "Temporary"which I apologize for...there are adjustments for the foot and if they have not been altered one would assume mechanics above it..my apologies again..Good luck . GOD BLESS

SOURCE: on my singer 9005 the
These plastic presser bar lifters do wear out a lot ,very common,,,,,,,,You can lift it up and file as close to the machine side on top just a couple of stroke son the file will usually give it a surface to hang on and it will stay up ,much easier than changing the plastic lever
SOURCE: faulty presser foot lifter on a singer 2110/2112.
I have seen these machines with broken presser bar clamps (something inside the head). If it is just a bind then some oil on the presser bar may work, if the clamp is broken then it is probably not worth fixing.
Good luck!
SOURCE: Singer Futura CE100 Connect Error. Check that USB cable is connected and power switch is turned on.
So here's what I did and it worked for me. Somehow the WinDriver that is on the software is uninstalling itself and needs to be listed with the drivers for Jungo for this software to work. I installed the software when I first got the machine with no problems, then suddenly I couldn't open it and was receiving the same connection error. When you go to http://www.futura-support.com/faq/machine.htm#2 to install the drivers, you'll notice their screen shot shows both the CLEM driver and the WinDriver. Check your machine following their instructions to see if you have both listed under the Jungo driver. If not, go to http://www.jungo.com/st/windriver_usb_pci_driver_development_software.html and select the link under "Available WinDriver Toolkits" for your operating systems (I selected WinDriver USB for Windows). It asks a bunch of questions which I didn't know the answer to so I selected "other" on almost everything then entered "NA"or "?" for the other description. Select Download now and it will need to restart your computer. Once done, I looked at the device manager again and now WinDriver is listed under Jungo and CLEM and the software opens, no problems.
This will at least temporarily solve the issue, however, it's a free trial which means the download will expire at some point. Good news is, the windriver is on the futura disk, I just don't know why it's not installing or staying on the machine. I am sending all of this to Singer to figure out what they're missing in the installation files and hopefully get a fix permanently.
Good luck!
SOURCE: I have a Pfaff Creative 1472 Anniversary Edition
This is a very common problem with Pfaff machines. The presser system needs oil in the right places. If you are mechanically inclined I can give you step by step instructions how to repair it. An air compressor is very helpful.
SOURCE: presser foot lifter is stuck can i fix it
If you can't lift the presser foot up at all undo the presser bar screw on top of the presser bar, if you have a dial turn it to 0, you should now be able to move the lever, if it is still tight put some WD40 on the presser bar and leave it for a couple of hours.
