replace Honeywell IFC board? - no power to igniter 12 year old Rudd Deluxe 90 Plus gas furnace at my home won't ignite. Induced draft motor keeps running. No power to igniter no matter how long I let furnace run. I traced the problem to the white wire into the igniter. It's not providing the power or ground to the igniter. The ignitor's black and white wires plug into the IFC circuit board. Troubleshooting guide says to make sure vent is open (it is), then to make sure air proving switch is working and is closed (I don't know where it is or how to test it), and then to replace IFC. Should I just go ahead and replace IFC? This will be the second time I've replaced the IFC board. Is that typical? I would appreciate advice on where to buy the IFC board - Honeywell MPLS MN55422. How much should it cost? I'm in metro Detroit, Michigan area. Thanks for your advice. Michael

Typical.
Could be a few things...
Stop now..call a tech..
And if its a $4 part thats actually bad???
Very
You cant. Rheem will not sell to a homeowner...at least not here. Also, if the board isnt the problem, you can forget returning it.
Also, the new board looks nothing like the old one, requires a couple of rewires, and cant be returned.
Dunno what the average labor rate is in your area, but around here, expect between $175 to 290, depending on the dealer.

Thanks for the advice CBHvac. I got one web price of $220 for the IFC board. I'm going to call the same furnace tech that installed my furnace about 10 years ago. He gave me the second board for a much lower price about four years ago, when my first board went. It was used stock, but worked. I replaced it myself and that got the furnace working again. This time, the furnace quit working after I replaced the Spaceguard pleated air filter. I let the furnace run a day without the filter (the old one was dirty, and I went to buy a new one), but don't see how that would affect the furnace. Is it just coincidence that the furnace quit working when I worked on the filter? I didn't open either furnace panel before it quit working. Both lights on the IFC are on. Thanks. Michael

I have one humidistat honeywell H8908B which presently controlls honeywell humidifiers(HE440A ). I am adding the HM512 onto the second furnace and trying to wire into the exisiting 440a. the 440a presently controlls both furnaces and works ok. can i wire and make the HM512 a slave ? and it still has to fill up with water an shut off by itself. i want both to act as one,but having the 440A keep controll of the fans. the service tech added a seperate two pole relay and spiced into to blue wire on the 440 and one side of the humidistat conector. also he set the number 4 dip switch on. this wiring left me with a over heating 512, it was super hotn to touch on the outside of the unit eventhough the main 440A was off.please help
