Question about EMTEC Magnetics Group C215 MP3 Player

Emtec mp3 player won't turn on

Hi! I have this huge problem, and I would really really need some help. So, I bought an emtec mp3 player, C215 or C210 model, with a drive included in the package. I used it with no problems for a few months on a friend's laptop, without the drive, then I connected it to my computer, my Windows did not recognized it, it gave me messages like "Windows was unable to process the device", "USB device not recognized". I plugged it off and on again and it recognized it not as an mp3 but as a generic volume, I was able to see the files in it by using My Computer, but when I tried to play the music, if it wasn't connected to the computer, I couldn't even turn it on.
The hold button is off, it is not set on repeat, I have no reset button, but the screen doesn't turn on at all. I have installed the firmware and it got worse, now I can use it only as a memory stick.
So is there anyway of solving this problem, without having to buy another mp3 player? It has 1 year warranty, and it is not yet out of it.

Oh, I forgot! My brother formatted it a week ago, because he had put a movie on it ( avi. file) and he deleted all the music in it, with a file called " winamp.ini" , and from there on I have problems with the mp3. And I'm sure there's no problem with the batteries, or with the usb cable.

Thanks, but the online assistance they offer is not helpful at all, because I am from Romania, and they do not offer assistance for the products sold and bought in my country ( I don't know why). And the mp3 player is not listed among the products they offer online assistance for.
The mp3 does not turn on at all now ( ! except when I use an empty battery)....if I connect it to the computer, I am given error messages, such as " delayed write failed" and a window with "the device is write-protected. remove the write-protection from the device" and something about harddisk\disk\DR5and sometimes DR3, or DR13. Is there any possible way I can remove the write-protection from it ?

This is a simple flash Mp3 player, I went on the manufacturers website..they do not have any firmware for either the C215 or the C210. So if you installed firmware to it, its possibly you installed the incorrect software on the unit. Most firmware restores the actual information such as the menu and playback options for your music. The biggest issue you have to look at is the device not turning on when its disconnected from the computer, I would check the battery..and then hold in the Play button for about 5 seconds, if nothing comes up, then your probably right, you just have a flash drive. You might contact the manufacturer and see if they can email you the firmware (if available).

My Emtec C230 MP4 Player can not play video files, i have tried several but sadly this machine is a failure. The link the PDCONVERTER is to a paid site which asks you to download their products first, is...

Please download the Format Factory software from here:

Install and launch it then choose Video and select All to Portable Device. Then set up the Profile to MP4,xVID (with suitable resolution) and save it. From now you will be ready to use this converter program, simply add files into it and start to convert.
I hope this software could help you.

Tevion MP3 player (digital audio player)

from when i first bought mine...
does it show as an MP3 player or MTP device, if it is the second one you'll need to do some tinkering in the settings. the instructions for this are in the small manual [no really]. It'll then behave normally.
Otherwise MTP devices require you to put files on in a different (and slightly arcane) way they also may need to be 'official' DRM files rather than CD-rips
hope this helps in some way and does not confuse

I killed my mp3 player

Try reistall drivers / software or both included on the CD which cames with the mp3 player. If you have lost the CD you can always reffer to the manufacturer's website.
