Sound but no picture!

I had thesame problem and I took off the battery, disconnected all power to the unit, and then unscrewed all the screws located under each grey circle as well as the one under the "warranty void if removed' sticker. There I found the ribbon that went to the monitor had been pulled from its place from what appeared to be twisting the screen in the wrong direction. Upon carefully lifting the motherboard I found the slot the ribbon went into, worked it back into the slot, put all back together and it works fine. Good luck!

Pioneer Dv 285 powers down after 15sec

Hi There, I've got the same problems with my DV 285. My power started going off approximately 5 to 10 minutes into the DVD. The only button that seems to work is the OPEN/CLOSE button. Once the tray closes, the unit shuts off. I can't even use the on/standby button to turn it on.

Screen got really hot and now it won't play DVD's

I was going to see if you DVD player has a reset button on it but it isn't popping up on Audiovox website.

If you open up the player see if there is a reset button on it. Hold it down for about 5 seconds and see if that works.

Unplug power from the unit and remove the battery as well. Put them back in.

Try a different DVD in case its warped or damaged.

If those don't resolve the issue you should take it in and have someone look at it.

Slide down the cover on remote control. On the bottom right side you'll see a little switch(usually is cowered with the warning white little sticker).Slide that switch to DVD1(or DVD2 if somebody got different setting).Power up DVD/VCR combo press system menu botton,go to settings, change to DVD3(factory default)and there you go.Good luck.

MY SAMSUNG DVD+VIDEO COMBO V4600

What you're describing is a common problem for this particular unit, a bad spindle motor. In some cases the motor can be removed by the tech and torn down for cleaning.. But in a high percentage of cases shops just replace the motor... What's happening, as your symptom appears the spindle motor is beginning to spin irratically. In turn the picture can sometimes just drop out. In others it simply folds over and is unwatchable. The spindle motor is not too expensive.. Good Luck Bill
