Question about Frigidaire Air Conditioners

Furnace will not run indicator shows 3 red flashes with the led. According to the book this represents a pressure switch open with inducer on error. Any help appreciated

We just had the same problem. Try going outside, find the air intake and see if it's full of snow! We just did that and voila, the furnace roared to life!!

There is a pressure switch on the inducer motor with a rubber hose attached to it. Make sure that this hose is attached and is not cut or leaking, it's much like a vacuum hose on a car. Also make sure that the inducer motor is operating normally, nothing blocking the flow of air through the flue.

Furnace will not light


Most furnaces can be reset by turning the power off and back on.
The pressure switch senses pressures in the furnace to make sure the exhaust fan or draft inducer is operating properly. if not the furnace shuts down. check the inlet and exhaust terminals outside for obstructions (I.E: leaves,frost or snow) check the drains to make sure they are not clogged . Hope this helps.

Model m1mc 090a bw furnace pressure switch open. inducer motor is pulling .45 w.c . the intake pipe above inducer is only pulling .1 w.c. . checked for venting and intake blockages found non. removed...


did you check the hose from the inducer to the pressure switch? HAVE you unplugged the unit from the wall outlet to reset the board? DO you have a voltmeter? If you do you can run voltage across the switch and if you get 24 volts you are open.

Carrier Performance Boost 80 has a status light flashing on the furnace, 3 times fast followed by 3 times slow. What does that mean?


this indicates fault 33, on inside of access panel will tell you faulty switch. i believe off top of my head is pressure switch open, this a safety switch to verify that inducer fan is working, several things besides a failed part can cuase this, there is a rubber hose going from the inducer fan houseing to the safety pressure switch, remove hose from fan housing and run a small stick ,wire or torch tip cleaner, down the acces port, calcium builds up inside the port and blocks the sampling of pressure, reassemble and try it, if this works add it to yearly maintenance could need new switch or inducer fan motor, these need to be replaced by a tech, also birds can block flue pipe

Hello, our 4 yr old goodman gmv9-gcv9 two stage gas furnace stopped heating our addition, it has 3 flashes from the red LED code. it says the low fire pressure switch is stuck open. i took off the switched...


Check the air intake pipe and if you can , remove it from the furnace temporally. It will be the one going to the burner not the inducer fan. Inspect the exhaust pipe for any ice, sags where water could collect and any debris. Take a jumper and when the inducer spins up to speed, put the jumper across the two terminals going to the pressure switch. If the unit fires up, you have either a bad pressure switch or a bad inducer fan. If you get it running, check for vacuum at the pressure switch hose. Only one hose will have pressure. If none, bad inducer. Blow out any condensate hoses you have on it. Your pressure switch works on vacuum not pressure, so test by applying slight pressure and use a multi-meter.

My central heating is on lockout and the burner is with red light

Read one LED flash that stays on continuously to mean your furnace has no signal coming from the thermostat and will not operate. Turn the power off and check the thermostat for improper settings or connections.

Interpret one LED flash that blinks on and off to mean your furnace has locked out because it could not ignite after three tries, and must be reset. Interrupt power to your furnace for 20 seconds or lower the thermostat so your furnace does not try to heat, then reset the thermostat to the previous setting. After one hour of lockout, your furnace will automatically reset itself and try to operate as usual.

Decipher two LED flashes to mean the draft blower is not working, or your furnace has a short in the pressure switch circuit. Turn off the furnace power and repair a short or replace the pressure switch.


Read three LED flashes to mean your furnace has an open pressure switch circuit or it has an induced draft blower operating. Check the pressure switch hose of your furnace for blocks or an improper connection. Also, look for blockages in the flue, and tighten any loose wiring.

Translate four LED flashes to mean your furnace has a primary limit circuit open, possibly from loose wiring or blocked filters. Check and clean filters, tighten wiring and check the flue for blockages.

Interpret five LED flashes to mean your Goodman furnace senses a flame without a call for heat. This could be from a gas valve closing slowly or a burner flame lingering.



Read seven LED flashes as a warning of a low flame sense microamp signal. This could happen with a coated flame sensor or a lazy flame from poor gas pressure. Turn off the power and adjust the gas pressure according to the information on the rating plate.



See eight LED flashes as meaning an igniter circuit problem due to a bad igniter or an igniter connected improperly. Replace the bad igniter or check the ground wiring, making necessary corrections.



Decipher nine LED flashes to mean the high-stage pressure switch circuit will not close during a high-stage-induced draft blower operation. Your furnace may have a pinched or blocked pressure switch hose, a blocked flue or loose wiring.

Read continuous flashing on the LED to mean your furnace has a reversed polarity of 115 volts. Turn off the power and correct the wiring polarity after reviewing the wiring diagram.

EACH OF THE FOLLOWING STATUS CODES IS A TWO DIGIT NUMBER WITH THE FIRST

DIGIT DETERMINED BY THE NUMBER OF SHORT FLASHES AND THE SECOND DIGIT BY

THE NUMBER OF LONG FLASHES.

STATUS

11 NO PREVIOUS CODE - Stored status code is erased automatically after 72

hours. On RED LED boards stored status codes can also be erased when power

(115 VAC or 24 VAC) to control is interrupted.

12 BLOWER ON AFTER POWER UP (115 VAC or 24 VAC) -Blower runs for 90

seconds, if unit is powered up during a call for heat (R-W closed) or R-W opens

during blower on-delay.

13 LIMIT CIRCUIT LOCKOUT - Lockout occurs if the limit or flame rollout switch is

open longer than 3 minutes.

- Control will auto reset after three hours. - Refer to #33.

14 IGNITION LOCKOUT - Control will auto-reset after three hours. Refer to #34.

21 GAS HEATING LOCKOUT - Control will NOT auto reset.

Check for: - Mis-wired gas valve -Defective control (valve relay)

22 ABNORMAL FLAME-PROVING SIGNAL - Flame is proved while gas valve is

de-energized. Inducer will run until fault is cleared. Check for:

- Leaky gas valve - Stuck-open gas valve

23 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT OPEN Check for:

- Obstructed pressure tubing. - Pressure switch stuck closed.

24 SECONDARY VOLTAGE FUSE IS OPEN Check for:

- Short circuit in secondary voltage (24VAC) wiring.

31 PRESSURE SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than

five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for:

- Excessive wind - Proper vent sizing - Defective inducer motor

- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective pressure switch

- Inadequate combustion air supply - Restricted vent

- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubing

- Low inlet gas pressure (if LGPS used)

If it opens during blower on-delay period, blower will come on for the selected

blower off-delay.

33 LIMIT CIRCUIT FAULT - Indicates a limit, or flame rollout is open. Blower will

run for 4 minutes or until open switch remakes whichever is longer. If open

longer than 3 minutes, code changes to lockout #13. If open less than 3 minutes

status code #33 continues to flash until blower shuts off. Flame rollout switch

requires manual reset. Check for: - Restricted vent

- Proper vent sizing - Loose blower wheel - Excessive wind

- Dirty filter or restricted duct system.

- Defective blower motor or capacitor. - Defective switch or connections.

- Inadequate combustion air supply (Flame Roll-out Switch open).

34 IGNITION PROVING FAILURE - Control will try three more times before lockout

#14 occurs. If flame signal lost during blower on-delay period, blower will come

on for the selected blower off-delay. Check for: - Control ground continuity

- Flame sensor must not be grounded

- Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine steel wool).

- Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. min., 4.0 - 6.0 nominal).

- Gas valve defective or gas valve turned off - Manual valve shut-off

- Defective Hot Surface Ignitor

- Low inlet gas pressure

- Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition

- Green/Yellow wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal

45 CONTROL CIRCUITRY LOCKOUT Auto-reset after one hour lockout due to;

- Gas valve relay stuck open - Flame sense circuit failure

- Software check error

Reset power to clear lockout. Replace control if status code repeats.

If status code recall is needed, briefly remove then reconnect one main limit wire to display

stored status code. On RED LED boards do not remove power or blower door before initiating

status code recall. After one status code recall is completed component test will occur.

Furnace blows cold air, ignitor won't glow.


ok this is going to sound funny but it seems as though the polarity is reversed going into your furnance. to correct this proiblem you first need to unplug the unit and where the cord goes into the furnance at that connection disconnect the two wires. Once theses are disconnected switch the wires .All you are doing is reversing the way the electricity flows into the circut board. I would wager that is the problem

Janitrol/Goodman GMP075-3 Draft Inducer Fan Won't come on


most forced draft fans are powered by 120 volts . close to the fan is usually a plug that unsnaps. create a call for heat after turning off to clear safetys and see if your getting 120 to fan on initial call for heat. if you are then fan draft motor is bad, usually sold as an entire assembly replace exact as it came out. sequence of operation is..... stat calls for heat via common and white wire to furnace , 24 volts. ......board sences call and sends 120 volts to forced draft ........ motor runs and creates pressure on proofing switch,....... switch closes 24 to board and tells it draft fan is on......... board then energizes ignitor,....... after ignitior glows gas valve is opened and burner lights ........ either ignitor or seperate sensor rod tells board the burner lit........ and a few minutes later the fan comes on and hot air is blown out. if a step is missed or doesn't proof the furnace either trys up to three times to light or locks out. turning off power usually resets safetys and it will resume attempts to lite normally.

High limit switch open on armstrong furnace


If you know where the high limit switch is you can always cut the two wires and wire them together causing the limit to close. But what you have to watch out for is why the high limit is not closing. That means in your return air either you have a dirty return air duct, dirty filter, or you don't have all your registors open to allow the heat to escape the heat exchanger. Just watch over riding the system. The high limit switch should either be on or behind the blower, in the middle of the system right under the heat exchanger. any other questions about hvac just ask.
