Question about Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Cyan ink cartridge is flashing, only prints in blue.

Printer said it couldn't recognize the Cyan ink cartridge.  I replaced it, with a brand new cartridge!  Now it only prints blue ink, if it prints at all.  Usually the Cyan ink cartridge just flashes & the computer says it can't recognize the ink cartridge.  I have replaced all the ink cartridges with new full ink!!!  I have cleaned the printer, wiped the cartridges, etc.  Please help me before I throw it out!!!

Hi cmwierson, I would suggest you update your printer drivers, try this, follow instructions exactly as written:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

Epson ink cartridges, always empty?

Epson has gone to great pains to ensure that third-party cartridges dont work. They really did a good job. Sometimes their printers wont even recognize genuine Epson cartridges. I saw a CX8400 with a brand new cartridge claim it was out of cyan ink after printing one 4 x 6 photo. Then it would recognize any cyan cartridge. It had to go back to Epson for replacement. False ink empty

Are you sure its exclamation mark?..
This warning message related to print head. (warn out). When you are replacing ink tube assembly use dummy print heads to do the priming (new ink tubes are empty & they have to fill with ink)..
Action: Remove all cartridges and print heads, switch on the printer follow the screen message.(Insert cartridges first next dummy print heads).once its recognizes cartridges then it switch over to print heads, insert dummy print heads. Once printer recognized the dummy print heads, printer will perform priming, during priming dummy print heads will filled with respective inks.(follow the display message)Remove dummy print heads & insert normal print heads. Wait till printer recognizes print heads, load the paper & wait till performs the calibration, once calibration is successfully done issue closed.
If calibration not successfully done, check align print out for which print head is not printed properly, replace it..
Pl ensure that minimum 50% ink levels required in cartridges before performing the priming. Best of luck..

I had the blue ink leak inside my C6180 printer and now it won't print in blue. How do I fix this? Thanks

What you really saw was a really light blue or "cyan" color. Right?

Replace the Cyan Ink cartridge.

Your Cyan ink cartridge leaked it's ink out, and now it is dead.... Bad cartridge, if it was "brand new" (or nearly brand new), ***** to the retailer that sold it to you, they should replace it for free. Have invoice handy, ask to speak to the "manager" or "boss" (a "supervisor" is still a "peon", and can't make decisions like that).

If they give you the run-around, ask to talk to the OWNER! If they shut u down (and/or **** u off), and the store is local (within driving range) bring the printer into the store (dripping ink and all) and raise holy hell. You'll be surprised how fast they "throw" ink cartridges (even new printers) at you to get rid of you 8^). Nothing smells of death more, to a sales person or manager, than an irate customer on the sales floor!

BTW, You'll want to clean up any excess "blue"/cyan ink that was leaked inside your printer, or you'll get ink blotches on you printouts.

Let me know if this help ya! Cheers...

Changed yellow ink to new cartridge. Printer won't recognize.

I contacted the Brother site, the support function there. Pursuant to what I found there, I unplugged the printer for ten seconds and replugged. The message display then told me that cyan was empty, and that magenta was near empty.

I installed a new cartridge in place of the empty cyan, and that fixed it.

Printer not working

if the printer doesn't recognize the replacement cartridges, the printer contacts could be dirty. You can clean them with a cotton swab dipped in distilled water and then squeezed very dry. If the printer still won't recognize a replacement cartridge, it most likely has a bad logic board and you should replace the unit.

But also make sure your using a genuine new Epson cartridge and not a refilled one or off-brand one.
