Can't install adobe cs3 updates on my imac

Hello
I bought an imac last year but have not been able to install any of the cs3 updates that appear periodically. Not sure if I've ever been able to, maybe in the very beginning. But it's always been a problem. Firewall is off. Any suggestions-updates are building up! I click to install the update, but within about 10 seconds I get a message that installation failed. And it moves on to the next update which fails, etc etc.
