I recently got a new Sansa (my last one was replaced by the company when they told me to update the firmware and subsequently broke it). The new player isn't recognised by my computer and has to be used as a USB memory card so I drag and drop music on to it, so it will only read mp3 files (instead of wma and wav etc). Anyway, like TimmyJimmy my player just decided to stop working, when I power it on, the scroll wheel lights but thats all that happens and now my computer wont recognise it all!

Can anyone help? Do you think it has a virus?

I tried formatting in MSC mode. The computer said it could not complete the format. Now only the blue scroll wheel will light up, but nothing appears on the screen. The same thing happens when I plug it into the computer. Either way, there is no response and the computer only detects a "USB Device", but can't find the driver for it. I called for support and they had me try things like holding the side 'record' button while plugging it in, but nothing worked.

Hold down the menu/turn on button for about 20 seconds that will reset it.

Choppy audio on Sansa e260.

To me it seems like the head phone jack is loose, it might need to be re soldered and then things would be back to normal. HOpe this works.

I bought my sansa yesterday and the screen isnt working, the buttons light up and its not recognized by me computer

Call sandisk tech support at 1-866-726-3474 or email support@SanDisk.com. I know I bought one of these as a refurbished unit and it came with no manual. They were very helpful when I had trouble with mine.

"BAD TRACK"

You have a corrupt file - bad file...

Corrupt files for sansa -

Plug your player in, in MSC mode.

Right-click on it.

Click "properties"

Click "tools"

Click "Error Checking"

Check both the boxes on the error checking window that pops up, and click start.

After it finishes, check your player to make sure your player is normal.

If that don't work then format = http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.as...
