Question about Apple iPhone Cell Phones

1 Answer

Frequent reports of the Iphone automatically choosing a word when user is typing a message/email, and making a simple task rather time consuming as user attempts to correct and enter the word they INTENDED to use rather than the one the Iphone thought. I have been advised to enter the required words into the Spelling facility of Iphone so that these words do not cause this problem, but once again this is time consuming - we have managers on the run who want things right away...! I doubt whether they can make the time to conjecture all words they MIGHT use in future corrospondences. I'm sure there is some way to switch off the automatic spelling/grammar, but none of us or the Telstra Store team here know what it is. You advise would be greatly appreciated.

My dictionary for the predictive text seems to work in Danish or something instead of the English it is supposed to. Not only that but it also has developed Alzheimer's and has very little short term memory, so I have to keep re-teaching it really commonly used words such as "please", and "going".

SOURCE: phone set up

You need to flash a different language pack to the phone.
Look at this online manual on how to hack and upgrade the V3
http://v3x.themotoguide.com/index.php?PID=1&PGID=433#
Then:
Get language pack here:
http://www.planetmotox.net/language_packs.php
I have used this one. It is a modified language pack with only english.
R374_G_0E.41.C0R_MXLP0001_reflash_MOTOX.shx

now flash to your phone and you will have only english

The only way to fix this is to completely reset your message memory. To do this, go to Menu -> Settings -> Memory Settings -> Clear Memory -> then click Messaging and OK. You will be prompted to enter your password. Enter it, confirm and you should have no problems.

How to Hard Reset an iPhone

<p>Owners and users of the Apple iPhone generally report loving the phone, but they also report frequent lock-ups where the screen suddenly freezes or goes black altogether. Some report success solving the problem with a soft reset or the holding down of the sleep/wake and home buttons for the 10 second reset requirement. If this does not work, a hard reset is required to bring the iPhone back to life.<br /> <br /> <span>Instructions</span> <ol> <li> Update iTunes to version 7.4 or higher from the Apple website if you haven't already. <li> Connect the iPhone to your PC. You are automatically taken to the sync management page, and iTunes automatically begins syncing, or copying/backing-up the calendars, <a href="http://www.ehow.com/internet/">Internet</a> bookmarks, contacts and e-mail accounts stored on the iPhone. Sync everything on the phone or pick and choose from the menu you're given. Sync everything on the iPhone you don't want to lose, because a hard reset restores the iPhone to its original state and all data added since it was first taken out of the box is lost. <li> Go to the "Summary" tab at the top of the screen and select "Restore" from the drop-down menu. <li> Wait as the iPhone hard resets. How do I empty trash email on iPad 4

How to delete or move ALL emails at once in non-jail broken ipad or iphone
It took me weeks of research to figure out finally how to decode this yet another secretive secret of apple. There is a perfect way of deleting ALL emails at once without jailbreaking your iphone or ipad...and here it is:
>> Open Inbox >> Edit >> Mark All >> Mark As Read [Added May 21, 2014 by Adrian; this extra step makes the difference between success & failure for some.]
>> Open Inbox >> Edit >> Check/select the top message; it will highlight the move button.
>> Press and hold the move button and uncheck the message that you had checked earlier.
>> Lift all your fingers off from the ipad screen and leave it alone. Wait until all your messages pile up on the right hand portion of the screen (in ipad); iphone will give you the actual number of emails it has selected for the action. Now they are just waiting for your command to be moved ALL at once.
>> Choose trash to delete all of them or any other folder where u want to move them, like one piece. Remember this will replicate your action on the server so you will ACTUALLY move them or delete them on the server and not just the ipad.
Once you have moved all messages to the trash you can either leave them there for the scheduled cleaning or empty it right away by doing this: go to trash folder and touch Edit. The Delete All button shows up at the bottom of the screen. Hit it! You're done!
If you do not see the effects of your actions on the server make sure you have enabled your email accounts for such actions.
Tips:
1. Please give enough time (could take up to several minutes depending the number of emails to be moved) for the emails to be selected for the move. Your screen will become unresponsive while all emails are being packaged. Once emails are ready, in ipad, you will see them zoomed out on the right hand side of the screen, and in iphone you will see the message showing you the actual number of messages that have been selected.
2. Avoid purging very large number of emails, the mail app might freeze or crash. If your inbox has thousands of emails change your sync settings in mail settings to fill lesser number of emails in your inbox.
3. [Added Jul 20, 2014 by Adrian] Many people have reported needing to repeat the above procedure several times before it succeeds. (I too have found this to be necessary a few times on my iPhone but not on my iPad-go figure.) So my final tip is to repeat the procedure 3-4 times if the mail doesn't disappear the first time. In my experience, if your messages disappear momentarily and then reappear, repeating the procedure will eventually make them stay deleted for good.
4. [Added Sep 18, 2014 by Adrian] If you are using IOS 8, there is a setting that may reduce emails piling up on your device! Go to Settings -> Messages and select Keep Messages under the Message History header. You'll be able to choose to keep your messages for 30 Days, 1 Year, or Forever.

How do i set up emails on the nokia n95 8 gb

Tap the Nokia Menu Key and choose Messaging. Scroll down to Mailbox and click. You will be told ‘no mailbox defined. Define now?’ Choose Yes.
A wizard starts which walks you through the process. First choose Start with the left selection key. Choose your mailbox type using the scroll key and clicking to ensure the correct one is selected with a dot to the left of its name. If you have webmail or an email address from your Internet service provider, choose POP3. Click Next.
Type in your email address. Use the star key to pull up a symbols list so you can choose the ‘@’ symbol and the 1 key for the dot. Choose Next.
Enter your incoming mail server then choose Next and your outgoing mail server then choose Next. Now choose your ‘access point’. The choices will depend on which operator you are using at the time and you may need to ask your operator for the right information. You can get the phone to ask you every time if that might be useful. Make your selection then choose Next.
Now give this mailbox a name. Make it meaningful, something like ‘Gmail email’ if your email provider is Gmail, for example. When this has been entered choose Finish and you will be told ‘Mailbox setup complete. Settings can be viewed and edited in e-mail settings’. Click OK.
Personalise the settings
Now you need to tell the Nokia N95 how to behave when it is picking up and creating email.
When viewing the messaging main screen scroll to the mailbox you just set up and click it to open it. Now choose Options then E-mail settings. From here there are several sets of settings to make.
- Choose User settings.
  • In the space under My name type your own name. This will be used to identify you instead of your email address when the recipient device supports that.
  • Under Send Messages click the scroll key to choose between sending messages immediately they are created or at the next manual connection
  • Under Send copy to self click the scroll key to choose between copying yourself in to all emails sent or not
  • Under Include Signature click the scroll key to choose whether you want to include a pre-defined signature on all emails. If you choose yes, you are asked to define the signature now.
  • Under New email alerts click the scroll key to choose whether you want the N95 to tell you when new email has arrived. This is useful if you have chosen to retrieve emails automatically – see ‘automatic retrieval’ below.
- Choose Retrieval settings.
  • This is where you tell the phone how much of each email to retrieve. You might want to retrieve less if you think you will end up spending a lot on connection time. The choices are; to retrieve headers only, to set a size limit on downloads, or to retrieve messages and their attachments.
- Choose Automatic Retrieval.
  • If you need to get your email regularly then you can set up the phone to pick up messages at regular intervals. Choose Disabled if you want to pick up email manually
- Choose Connection settings.
  • Here you can change any of the basic email settings such as incoming and outgoing email servers and can give the phone your login password

My iphone does not alert me to new emails unless I open my email. In other words, the email ap doesn't show the correct # of emails actually in the box and I don't know there are new ones unless I open it....

First delete all email accounts from your IPhone except the one that you want to be updated without opening the email app.  IPhone can only automatically update one email account without accessing the email app.  Under settings on your IPhone, choose "mail, contacts calendars."  Then choose "Fetch new data." Then make sure to set "Push" to the  "ON." position.  Then select the time window for checking for new emails, "15 min 30 min manually."  Theoretically, your email app will check your email account or new emails every 15 minutes if you choose the 15 min option. The IPhone does not yet update emails every time you receive an email.
