Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Weird color and pattern

I have a 3 year old Sanyo Z3 that is displaying a weird bluish steak up the middle of the picture. It began when I changed the first bulb at 2000 hours as recommended. The projector had worked extremely well to this point. After a few hours a bluish blob slowly appeared at the bottom of the screen and slowly (weeks) spread up the picture. I put the original bulb back in and it was better but the bluish streak was still slightly visible. I have not tried another bulb due to the expense and the second bulb does not have that many hours on it. Is this a defective bulb or is it something that will require a visit to the repair shop?

Thanks,
John

This is actually a common problem. It isn't just the bulb. It's the projector. It has a reputation of doing this. Google Sanyo z3 blue blob for more info. I would recommend a better projector.

If cleaning didn't help, it is either off to the repair shop or off to buy a new one.

I would try to take the lens off and clean it a little maybe when you changed the bulb you let some dirt in or something you never know..then if that does nothing i would take it into the repair shop because if its the bulb they can diagnose it and replace it for you instead of you buying oneother part just to see if thats whats wrong..hope this helps..good luck!

|If you get the same problem with both lamps then it does not depend on the bulb.

Check if the lens are dirty or if you see any burned area inside.

Before risking to cause more damage it is better to take the projector to a repair shop.

Sanyo PLV-Z3 Multimedia Projector problem

This could be due to one of the three filters that are easy to change - download the free pdf service manual - not the user manual - it is very descriptive and the filter is about $120 from Sanyo.

Color issues are harder to solve without seeing the problem. It sound like the red amplifier on the crt board is bad. Is there any red in the picture at all? If not, that will be you problem

I have a 53 inch Sony Projection TV that is about 4 years old. The only service ever done to it was an inside dust cleaning by a technician maybe 3 years ago. The color started being more green over time...

Please count the blinks if it is a repeating pattern and post the model number. This is a relatively common problem, but the solution is dependent upon the model number.
Thanks,
Dan

Change the TV.
I had same problem since 3 years after moving from dubai to bucharest i believed that my home theater was damaged during transportation. I tryed all repair shops in my area but no luck, so i used it as a simple mp3 player at home.

Last week, after 3 years, i changed my old CRT tv with an LG LS3000 lcd tv and SURPRISE...my dvd have colours again.

Viewsonic Projector not displaying RED

Hi there

This could be a problem on the Mainboard - because all the proccessing from your inputs is done on the Mainboard.

Try replacing it , I'm sure you'll have joy then.
