Lost space in my Sandisk Cruzer

I have a 8 Gb Sandisk Cruzer with U3.
I wanted to remove the U3 and found a samll app in U3 website.
After applying the application on my Cruzer, there was a single 3.5 Gb partition!
Where did the other 4.5 Gb went to? I looked in Disk management, even installed Acronis Disk Director, deleted the partiotion, remade it and reformatted - 3.5 Gb stay.

What can I do?!

According to Acronis Disk Director, there is no unallocated space in the disk.

I delete the partition, unallocated space is 3.5 GB - not 8 GB.

    Reformatted as FAT32.

    Anything else?

    Thanks

Formatted the partition to NTFS as suggested, then reformatted to FAT32 and exFAT, no win.

There is no unallocated space in the disk.

    :(

I had the same problem. Just go to Sandisk's website and download the latest U3 removal tool, run it and it will format it back to 7.5 GB.

My sandisk cruzer 4 GB pendrive ws working fine but now whenever i try to format\copy\cut it shows location 0 with used space 0 free space 0 what should i do

Your flashdrive usually shows 2 drives when inserted to your computer, one is the U3 drive and the other one is the removable disk drives. U3 drive is your separate partition for the U3 system and in order for you to store, copy, format your flashdrive, you should be selecting the removable disk drive, not the U3 drive. U3 is a read only memory drive that is responsible for your U3 to work (just like portable applications). Hope this helps.

Because of wrong formattung procedure, so i lost all the U3 smart programs inmy Cruzer Flash Drive (micro 1 GB)

Hi rodgafli,
first I would try to get my files back, so I would suggest you to try one of the products behind the following links: http://www.pc-inspector.de/file_recovery/welcome.htm http://www.recover4all.com/ http://www.partition-recovery.com/ If you don't want to try that (because no worthful data has been lost) you should reinstall the U3-Launchpad from Sandisk: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp After that you can reinstall the U3-software by using the U3-Launchpad. Sandisk Cruzer Micro U3 memory problem

did you try uninstalling the U3 software?  when the u3 launchpad comes up, there should be an options link, look in there for the uninstal button.  Once you take off U3, you can't put it back on.
if you want even more space, AFTER UNINSTALLING U3, take everything you want to keep off of the drive, and put it on your computer.  make sure you remember where it is.  then, in My Computer, right-click the drive, and click Format.  for the File System box, select FAT32, make sure Quick Format is checked, then click the format button.  Make sure before clicking that button, EVEERYTHING YOU WANT TO KEEP IS OFF OF THE DRIVE!  YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO RECOVER YOUR DATA ONCE YOU FORMAT THE DRIVE!
Hope these tips help

Data recovery

Because it formats the device, if the restore option didn't work then it sounds like bad news. I would recommend searching your pc for the images just in case the U3 uninstaller cached them somewhere during the process.

Error occurred while initializing U3 Launchpad

Your SanDisk Cruzer® Micro SDCZ6-2048 (2 GB) USB 2.0" may be giving problem due to the internal errors.
Therefore 2 GB card may be scaned through anti virus, if problem repeats then format ur card from the computer.
