Lost key need to replace Ignition switch for 1998 Mitsubishi Montero sport

Disconnect the battery: Before beginning any work on the electrical system of your vehicle, disconnect the battery to prevent accidental shocks or short circuits.
Remove the steering column cover: The ignition switch is located on the steering column, so you'll need to remove the cover to access it. Depending on the exact model and trim level of your Montero Sport, the cover may be held in place with screws or clips.
Remove the ignition switch: Once you have access to the ignition switch, you'll need to remove it from the steering column. This may involve removing any retaining screws or clips that are holding it in place, as well as disconnecting any electrical connectors.
Install the new ignition switch: Install the new ignition switch in the reverse order of the previous steps, making sure that it is securely fastened to the steering column and that all electrical connections are properly connected.
Test the new ignition switch: Once the new ignition switch is installed, reconnect the battery and test the switch to make sure that it is working properly. Insert the new key and try to start the engine. If the engine starts and the key can be turned smoothly, you've successfully replaced the ignition switch.
It's worth noting that depending on the specific make and model of your Montero Sport, the exact steps for replacing the ignition switch may vary slightly

My buick has stopped turning on just recently. When I turn the key everything goes silent but the engine light stays on. I cant tell if its the battery or something else.

If it will start by jump starting, then the problem is either the battery or the alternator, or both. If the car has proper voltage (or the battery light is not lit) while the engine is running, and if the battery is more than three years old, I'd suspect the battery is the problem. If the voltage reads less than 12 volts or the battery light is lit while running, the alternator is not producing enough power to keep the battery charged. This may mean that the alternator only needs replaced or the alternator and battery may need replaced.

Replaced battery and abs started acting up they engage on normal dry pavement under normal stopping conditions...no problems before battery change????

i believe the battery replacement is coincidental.the rear spindles of these vehicles dont drain water properly and as a result corrosion build up forces a white plastic cover on rear of knuckle against the wheel speed sensor which in turn rubs against huib assy.causing false wheel speed signals which engage the abs.simple to check.remove both rear sensors from spindle and look for evidence of rubbing.look CLOSELY its not always obvious at first glance.nissan has a service bulletin for this incident.contact local dealer parts dept. they'll know what you need.

Removed old honda battery due to age replaced with new battery. i get the guuages to illuminate but car will not turn over. i know the battery is new and i removed the protective terinal caps on the new...

No, it should immediately start if you have the battery connected properly. Are you sure this new battery is fully charged? It may just need charging. If the battery is fully charged and connected tightly then you have another problem.

What do i need to do to replace a starter in my 97 nissan sentra?

first unhook the battery, remove the air cleaner box and ducting to the throttle body, you will see the 2 bolts for the top. you will then need to go under the vehicle(make sure the vehicle is properly supported), and you will see the bracket between the engine block and the intake manifold, remove it.the starter wire does not get removed from the starter, it has a connector about 4-5 inches away. disconnect it there. disconnect the battery cable from the starter, remove the last bolt and it will come right out. all in all it takes about 30 minutes. most places will charge a "core charge" on a product like this. dont be suprised, however when you return the old starter you will get your money back. let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a1994 ford f-150, battery fine, but it

Very possible that selenoid is bad-did you have starter tested?(auto parts stores do this)Check all cables going to starter for corrosion and loose connection at starter. Corrosion gets inside of cables over time, so replace when in doubt. INSTRUCTIONS-remove negative cable from battery and move away from battery(tie off), on selenoid if fender mounted, remove cables from both sides of selenoid(is stamped with letters B and I)-when you remove, mark with tape which is I and which is B, in case replacement is different from old unit. then remove from fender(save bolts)-install new part on fender, and replace cables on proper sides(B or I). install neg. cable on battery-try to start....good luck!!!

I need to know where to find the fuel filter

Check under your rear seat. If you dont find it there it is Mounted in the the gastank. I would suggest you dont drop the tank and take it to a shop for them to do it. THere are special tools used to remove the gasoline in the tank and also remove the pup itself. If it is in the seat then disconnect the battery and its just a fuel bolts that you can remove. If you remove it make sure to cover the hole where your pump was . You dont want to ignite those Fumes in the sun.
