I am using Windows ME (yes I know that this is old,but the software inidicates that it will work with this) I have loaded the software and loaded a missing driver ( I am not sure that I have loaded the missing driver to right place) When I try to run PhotoImpressions to load from the Camera, the camera is not showing up as a possiblitity to be loaded from. Also when I try to use "Dual camera" it gives a message "Driver open fail" MARSCAMC.

    Thanks,

    Ken

Did you ever have any luck? I have just bought same camera but have no instructions, am puzzled about some of the functions etc. As I understand Vivitar has gone broke, I don't suppose there's much chance of support coming from them....

Hi all.

Cheapest and easiest way to get this working with your computer is to buy a SD drive ( only a couple of $$$ ). All you will need to do is take out the SD card from the camera, put it in the SD drive and then download your pictures from the SD.

Easy as!

I got it figured out kind of by accident. I decided to by a SD card, figuring that may work. when I plugged it in, a box came up say that it was working properly, but I still didn't get the pictures. I clicked something else in that box (I think it was advanced setting and they asked me if I would like to reconfigure the ports, so of course I said "yes". What do you know it made the SD card work and my camera worked also. I just had to follow a few easy directions that came up. That's it, Thanks, Gary

I need drivers of vivitar 5188

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

If my vivicam 5188 is plugged in PC...it's not recognised...since the related software is not installed. I need the related driver/software.

You can request the Vivitar software at
http://www.vivitar.com
Click on the "Vivitar Experience Software" link.

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
