Question about Hitachi Televison & Video
I bought a hitachi 42pd4200 plasma tv from new york, and brought it back to romania with me. it's multisystem, romania uses PAL, and it's worked great for 3 years now. A month ago, i noticed a problem. when powering on, before it displayed the color image of the channel it was tuned to, it showed a bunch of white starsprinkles on the top right side of the panel. and then when going up/down by channel, same thing happened, for a split second, then the image came on and after maybe 5 minutes, after i guess it warmed up, the problem disappeared. i could power it on/off, navigate thru channels, there were no more sparkles. now today, it seems the problem evolved. while watching a movie, the color on certain objects on the screen would flicker. usually the brighter objects displayed thru the movie. the flicker i'm describing is a split second alteration between the real color that's supposed to be displayed, and the reverse of it, sort of. and this happens on AV1,2,3,4, whether i watch my dvd player, my pc tv out, or the regular cable channels. help, i don't know where to start. if you guys think i need to resolder some ribbons as above, i can. i just hope the plasma is still ok, and that i don't need a new panel. i've heard stories of plasma lasting a period of time, then.. getting used up or some crazy ideas like that. hope not. i appreciate any help offered
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

There is a fault in the main processor that is causing noise. The set will have to be serviced. The tech will probably try the main video processing board to start.

I would use the warranty for this problem. The part that need to be replaced can be somewhat expensive.
With the credit card statement, you can use that as a receipt.

SOURCE: plasma TV with vertical lines
EASY! ok the 4th video processing unit is malfunctioning, if it is a Piano affect like the keys on the piano, then that can be fixed under your 1year warrenty after your 1year warrenty it will cost $200, but i could be wrong, i never studied panasonic plasma casue they ****, next time get a samsung.

Its most likely going to be a D board or a C2 board, I had vertical lines on mine got the service manual and it breaks the screen down into squares, well I had a problem where the lines were all over, stuck pixels ect, replaced the D board and all is well, fix was quoted at 300 by a local shop friend after I told him my problem so it would be worth the tech to fix it. If you could do it yourself (it is pretty simple) the boards are cheap on ebay.

yes, by canging the bulb. it proboly went out while the television was already dead. you can try but i would hire a proffesional. it may cost 100$ or more.
