Day1:My son's iTouch slipped into sink while water was running...and it got soaked. It was on at the time, and shut off. We dried off immediately, and put in bowl of rice for overnight.
Day2: Took out of rice, No luck. Put it on the furnace to get some heat for the entire day. Still not no luck. Plugged it in at 11p for first time, and finally some signs of life..screen flickered and went out. iTunes recognized, then lost its connection. Going to leave plugged into computer overnight.
    Day3: TBD

I might have the solution for this but I'm not quite sure. It worked well for me. My iTouch got dropped in water and I took it out right away. You could tell there was water damage from the way the screen lit up. mine stayed on and I didn't know quite what to do but I worked for a day on trying to get all the water out of it and then I plugged it in for a while.

At first though, it wouldn't charge and this went on for a while but since I continually plugged it in, I was able to get it back charging and now it works as well as before. So I say, try plugging it in for a few hours and unplugging it and letting the power drain and plugging it in a again for about a week and if it still doesn't work I don't know what to tell you.

I WASHED my iTouch. Freakin fail on my part. Soap and fabric softener and all. At first it didnt want to turn on. at all. Plugged it in and nothing. 1 month later I plugged it in to my PC just for kicks. It worked! How? I don't know. I say give it time to dry and re-circuit itself or something. Good luck out there

Could be that the logic board is broken. If you're out of warranty, somebody has to open the device and replace the part. The part is available on ebay. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an iPod touchhttp://www.portatronics.com/guide. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you

Dropped in glass of water, dried it out, it turns on, but all the apps and music downloaded is gone. Is there anyway to get the apps and music back? They were download from the itouch not through itunes.

there is generally no way to bring things back from the itouch, you will have to download them to the itouch from your computer or though itunes.

Tip

Fix Disabled ITouch that ITunes will not recognize

If your itouch reads "disabled connect to itunes" and shows the "locked" icon and your itunes will not even recognize the device and itunes says your itouch is locked and enter password, Here is what you do to restore your itouch: (you will lose all itouch contents but it is worth it as almost all say it is broken and worthless)
1. Turn off your itouch or ipod. Do not have charger / usb connected to ipod or itouch.
2. With device off, connect the charger end of the cable to the itouch / ipod but do not plug the usb into the computer.
3. Open Itunes
3. While holding down the menu button (and I mean keep holding it down), plug the usb into the computer.
4. Wait to see the new wonderful graphic on your device and computer screen that shows that your ipod / itouch is recognized.
Your itouch will start immediately restoring itself and you are ready to fill it up with wonderful images, photos and videos again!
So happy to share this tip. It saved me money and time.

All my music and videos are gone and the screen is messed up from the inside. I dropped my itouch in the sink of water for one second and immediately dried it but it seems to has some problems what should...

1) Sell it on eBay to help cover the cost of a new iPod, you'll probably be able to get 50-70 dollars for it.

or

2) Find and pay someone either on eBay or another website who are able to fix water damaged iPods.

My son dropped his itouch in water and now it does not work

sometimes, putting it in rice and leaving it overnight dries it off and works, but i would highly recommend taking it to the apple store or talking to an apple representative

Cannont transfer podcasts to itouch from itunes

It could be a bad file. If you're resetting your device, and then adding you music and such back, there may be some bad song, or app that is corrupting your device. On my Mp3 player, it would get stuck on a song that wasn't really there, so I found some corrupt goofy Weird Al song, removed it, and it never happened again.
