Most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit

Since when this problem arised, is anything wrong goes with it during this period.

Check out the powersupply.. and hold it off for 10 minutes.

Then replug the system and push the power button on.

If you are able to check out its internal wiring and PCB Board, then check the control board.

NOTE: Caution hazardous voltage remain inside TV, better to plug off before taking any action.

Ellin

Most of these rear projection tvs need some type of service repairs at 5-6 years old+ and if this tv has been dropped even a few inches lately, then that could cause the board to crack and not power on. ive heard of some cases when some acid has dropped onto the board rendering it inoperable. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi (or anyone else) stocks replacement boards for that particular model. you should have a service repair guy come in and take a look at it or you could look around the vast recources of the fixya forums and see if you can get anymore answers. good luck with the tv!

Check if there is continuity in the power cable.

Check first if the power cable is good, test a different socket.

If you have a multimeter you can also test the power cable for continuity, check also if there had been a short on the power board where power cable connects.

If that is fine , probably you will need to replace the power board.
You can get the part at shopjimmy,
    or contact Mitsuparts

If you want to call a technician you can call the number printed on the owner manual.

Vertical bars and lines run up and down the screen. Need service manual or parts outlet

There is no such thing as a "vertical sweep circuit board" in that set. The vertical circuit is part of the sweep module. And BTW that type of symptom is more often a power supply filtering problem anyway.

No power to tv when i plug it in. don't know if all the way dead way to check it?

I really need the make and model number to help you.

My understanding of what you have said is that there is no standby light and no clicking sounds when you power on your unit. If this is true regardless of what type of tv it is there is a fair chance that the main ac line fuse is blown.

To determine if the line fuse is blown, remove the rear cover panel and follow the ac power cord to where it connects to the circuit board. The ac fuse is a small glass cylinder, about a half inch long. Replace the fuse with the same amperage and ignore the voltage rating. If the new fuse blows as well, your looking at involved circuit work which should be referred to an experienced repair technician.

Power off is when you press the switch.
Shut down is when you turn off from remote and TV stays in standby with led on.

Try replaceing capacitors C2C52 10uf 50V capacitor and also C2P05 100uf 16V capacitor. these are both on the signal board. It that doesnt correct the issue replace IC2P01 which is the 9volt regulator also located on the signal board. That should take care of your problem

Not to me, but it also depends on if you could do this yourself or not. And the area you are in sometimes is responsible for the cost being high.
