I moved my dryer down to the basement VERY CAREFULLY and converted from a three prong to a four prong. And not it only blows cols air. It is only a year old and until I moved it it worked beautifully. And I unplugged it twice for a minute to reset it. No help. I also ran it with no vent hooked up. Still no heat. Help!
Did you give it plenty of time to cool down before you moved it? If not, you heating element could have opened - if everything else seems to work except heat, but you should also check the thermal switch.
I dont remember if we ran a cycle before moving it. Does that mean the element is ruined? Also how do I reset the thermal switch? and or "close" the heating element? Thank you!
Although they call it a thermal switch it is more of a fuse. When it trips you have to replace it. When I say open, it means the element broke in two pieces and no longer will give you an ohms reading on an ohm meter (so an electrical open).
