Hold down the power button a while to unlock the deck.
If not work open the unit to release the DVD.

Press repeatedly the eject button while you restart the unit.

The DVD wont probably eject now, as the two dvds are stuck inside, try first the following:

    Unplug power.

Plug it back and press repeatedly the eject button while you turn the machine on.

If that does not work it means that the DVDs are really stuck inside.

In this case get somebody that is good at using a screwdriver to help you, ask to unscrew the bottom screws from the unit (after unplugging power) and so access to the dvds.

Once you access the DVD tray, removing the disks from the inside won't be too difficult.

As usual, DIY at your risk.

Let us know how it goes.

I have a dvd stuck in the slot. It won't play or eject. I hear the tv trying to eject but nothing happens. How can I fix it?

You will need to open up both dvd case and dvd player! the rubber type band that turns the wheels to open tray is bad, not tight enough to turn wheels! This rubber type band is located at the front of tray. you might be able to get tray to open by taping the top front of player after you push eject, just not hard enough to bend case.

Check the connection between the devices. There may be incompatibility issues. Or might the remote button not to make contact. Spread the remote, clean motherboard and contact sheet. Let them dry and reassembles.

A jammed DVD will not eject. Message"Repairing" goes on and on and nothing happens. How can I reject the dvd?

To whom it may concern

Thank you for the offer. I will bear it in mind should I need further assistance.
I solved the problem by removing the cover and loosen the clips where the disc tray is and slid the release tray and by pressing the eject button, the tray ejected the disc.
I have tried other discs by recording, deleting and ejecting and so far the problem has not been experienced again.
Kind regards.

Nextbase slot-in portable DVD player with a stuck DVD.

You can either use a paper clip and bend the metal so a long metal part pokes out. Push this metal part of the paper clip into the DVD player where there is a small hole for emergency openings when no power is available to DVD players. The other option is to unplug the DVD player, then unscrew the casing off the DVD player and then you can manually use your hands to remove the DVD. Cheers, eiger3790.

I use a produce bag tie. Stick it in the bottom of the dvd slot after pushing the eject button and the disc pops out for me.

There is a DVD in the player that wont eject or play.

Instead of a pinhole, there is a slot on the bottom of the DVD player that will force the disc out. There's a plastic lever visible on one side of the slot. I used a butter knife to push into the slot.

I have an AudioVox D1020 portable DVD player. Recently it has stopped ejecting DVDs, but will still play the DVD in the drive. There is a loud whirring sound when the eject button is pushed

The PCB board for the CD controls has slid out of its bracket slightly into the pathway of the CD.

Open the DVD player, there are 3 screws on back corners and one on the bottom. Use a penny in the slots where the speakers go and gently separate the back from the front, but only very slightly. Be cautious now, because there are several wiring bundles between the front and the back. Reach into the gap, at the top where the CD control buttons are, find the PCB for the CD controls and gently push it back into place. Put the front and back together, power up and see if you've cleared the pathway.

My DVD Player does not reject a DVD. It gets stuck.

I had been closing the door at the DVD slot manually. I found that if I closed the DVD door with the close button, and then opened it with the open button, it no longer got stuck.
