I'm using Power2GO5 version 5.6.3917 which I downloaded from the website allowing it to be used on Vista. I am receiving this same error message near the end of the DVD burn.

    Elsewhere someone else suggested...

"Make sure you have the latest XP SP2-compatible version of Nero."

There are patches available but not for my version.

    Power2Go

I'm still working on a solution any input would help out Thanks!

Hi! Excuse me for my English. I'm writing from Spain and I have the same problem, error 0xeb020b88 when I use dvd shrink and after that power2go. I work on a hp laptop, Vista, and I've burned some wrong dvds yet. Do you know if this is a software or hardware problem? Maybe the discs?

I dont' know much about computers but I've bought this one little time ago and this is the first time that I have a problem like that...

    Would you help me, please?

    Regards,

    Ana

I am facing the same problem.I have a HP laptop with Microsoft Vista. I am getting the error message Burning Failed, ERror Code: 0xeb020b88 whenever I try to write a DVD. Can anyone suggest a solution to this?

  • Anonymous Jan 21, 2009

Same problem - can't burn a DVD or CD, hardware NOT an issue, Using Nero, everything burning fine, then all of a sudden couldn't burn CD's or DVD's tried other software same thing, changed the drive, same thing..Drives and media work on my other pute..Checked DMA transfer selected..Might be XP.

  • Anonymous Mar 03, 2009

this is what i've up with.. dvd's will not burn at all, so i burn on Cd's....with no errors whatsoever, regardless of the files...whether music, movies, games or programs. It has something to do with being unable to burn onto Dvd...even though I have the dvd/cd drive burner.

Do you also getting the Data redundancy error?

Is the error coming up with one CD only and with that CD in all PC ?

Let me know are you copying the CD to CD or CD to Hard Disk, or else Hard Disk to CD (Burning)

May be your Cd content is corrupt.. otherwise check the CD/DVD rom with a fresh CD and try to copy it.

Dude,Its very simple. Its nothing to worry. You havent used your DVD drive so frequently. There might be dust, debris or other contaminants from the laser lens that may cause skipping while write process. Get PHILIPS DVD Lens cleaner and run it once. Your problem will be solved.
I was facing the same problem for a weeks time, when my friend suggested me this.It worked well.

For burning DVD/CD i would recommend use of NERO 8.0 version.

Otherwise try simple copy directly to the CD Rom folder and then click on Write these files do CD

Let me know if it work for you, else I will give you some another solution.

I was getting this error when the source was not readable. I had files that I could not even copy normally, let alone burn. I was getting CRC errors. I restored these broken files and tried again, and burn was successful.

There may be a problem with the external usb not getting enough power. I have an external usb slim drive that comes with TWO usb connectors. the extra usb connector is used to draw in additional power form the usb port. When, I connect both usbs to the same pair of usb slot (next to each other) on the computer, I get the error. When I connect each usb to a separate usb slot that is far away from each other on the computer, then i get no error. Since I am drawing power from two separate usb ports that are on two different pair, I have no problem.

First thing to check is to make sure that you don't have any floppies, CDs, or even flash drives or memory card readers plugged in when booting. Because if something got messed up in your BIOS, this 'can' cause the computer to try to boot from these devices and give that error.

If you have ruled that out and you still get the error, try to boot from the Windows XP Pro disc. You will have to make sure the CD/DVD drive is set as the FIRST boot device in your BIOS or you will continue to get the error.

Here are the steps to fix the problem IF you have ruled out all of the above. This is for XP ONLY.
  1. Insert the Windows XP Pro bootable CD into the computer.
  2. When prompted to "press any key to boot from the CD" press any key.
  3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
  4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
  5. You will then be prompted for your password, enter that password.
  6. Copy these two files to the root directory of the primary hard drive. (typically C:\ ) We are copying these files FROM the CD-ROM. I have no way of knowing your CD drive letter. Quite possibly D:\ This letter may be different on your computer.
    copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\
    copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
  7. Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

That's about all I got for ya, based on the info you provided.
    HOPE IT HELPS!

Most file copy errors are RAM related. things to try are as follows:
  1. Clean the CD with a soft dry cloth and ensure no scratches or smears on data surface.
  2. If cleaning CD has no effect, then try system with individual memory modules and see if error is only associated with 1 memory module (The install error is normally copying files to or from RAMDRIVE created in RAM during install process)
  3. Run hard drive diagnostics

Error code 106

do this
The error "ComponentMoveData...Error Number: -106..." indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.
You could try copying the contents of your CD-ROM (or the essential folders) to your HDD or a network drive. You will soon find out of there is dirt or damage on the CD, and if not, you can easily then install from your HDD or network drive.

While installing vista sp1 the error occurs like error no 0 x 007000D

memory error, bad cd, or cd drive. can also be bad ram on vid card. tricky problem as it can be many things, but they are all easily fixed if you have some old parts around. if you have more than one ram chip, take one out and try it and then if it still happens try the other one, alone. if it still does it than its not ram, so switch out the cd drive or try a different drive if you have more than one installed. if you have another compter, also make another copy of your osys cd and try it.
last but not least, if you have an old vid card you can use, take out the one you have, if its built in, dont worry it will automatically use the plug in. and try it.
I guarantee you its one of these.
make sure your computer meets the specs for vista of course i would assume it does....it it does, than its one of these problems.
i have a copy of xp and a copy of vista that both give crazy mem errors on install, and use others in same pc and they work fine...

Ntldr error on ibm intellistation z pro w/ xp pro

During the XP install, you will be given the chance to set up partitions on the drive. Blow them all out. Completely. Then recreate the partition and let XP install. I expect this will solve the nt loader issue. If, however, it does not, then use the recovery approach below to get the required loader files onto your boot partition.

  1. Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
  2. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
  3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
  4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
  5. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
  6. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "d." This letter may be different on your computer.

    copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\
    copy d:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

  7. Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.

Burn another copy of the rescue cd and see if the copy works,,
Use an original windows cd insted of the rescue cd,,
if those dont work,
You will need to replace your harddrive,
and this might render (streess the word might) your recovery cd useless in which case you will need to get another windows cd..
