2000 JEEP GR.CHEROKEE 4.0L V6

I got home yesterday and shut off my jeep, when i tried to start it up 15 mins later it just turns over. I'm not getting any fuel to the injectors so i thought it was the pump for sure but i checked the pump and it is not getting and power to it. I checked all fuses and they are fine, i switched around all relays in the fuse box and still nothing. Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

My main concern is that there is NO POWER to the electrical and fuel of the car. A local mechanic told me "CHEROKEE'S" are known to have a problem with the "CRANK POSITION SENSOR" I'm not to sure if this is common but I am thinking to order it/replace it and see what happens.

Problem fixed it was the "CRANK POSITION SENSOR".

    thanks for your help!!!!

2000 Jeep Cherokee cranks but will not start. I checked for 12 volts

at the coil rail and it's not getting it there. My Manual said then to check the Auto shutdown relay so I removed the cover and watched the relay while my son turned on the ignition. The relay energized. The manual then brought me to the PCM and said to have it dealer tested. Another area to check is the crankshaft positioing sensor mounted

where the distributor would be if it was a model before the year 2000.

I still haven't got it started. Has anyone out there got a positive fix for

    this problem?

Hi if theres no live to the pump three things spring to mind fuses and relay and fuel cut switch has tripped so you need to check at the relay if there is a live and if not it is the cut out switch if its live at the relay by pass relay by connecting its live to the feed for the pump it should start if the pumps ok if so replace the relay yates210456

hi the two main problens with the ecu,s accessories are engine temp senser and the crank postion senser my problem would be with this is no engine codes being stored on earlier models they did not always register this may be the case with the cherokee,s as it would make sense for this to be faulty as the fuel pump would also need to know when the engines pistons at the top of there stroke your can do a resistence test on the crank position sensor to see if its faulty depending on the senser they vary between 200-400ohms and 800-1200omhs a sensor that is ok will be between one of these readings check it disconnected from its loom let me know how you go on paul

I have a 1992 jeep cherokee 4.0 inline 6. i am having the same starting problem as everyone else. while driveing it shut off i got it started 15 mins later it did this til i got home. ever since it hasnt...

Try unplugging the ECU wire harness from the ECU, clean the terminals and screw it back on tightly. Might be a bad connection at the ECU. Also, I have no idea what 'block sensor' you are talking about and that jeep 4.0 has a crankshaft sensor bolted to the transmission bell housing, not a camshaft sensor, right?

Okay my car started having problems starting it had a quarter gas tank and had never gave me any problems. Never has been over heated just had temp gauge replaced transmission flush and perfect inspection....

try my favorite simple fix. Get some stp fuel treatment or whatever is common for your area, read the label and make sure it removes water from the gas tank/gas pour the entire bottle in then fill up the tank. let the car run for a few minutes drive it if possible. Your problem should clear up shortly.

The cruise on my 2006 jeep gr. Cherokee started acting up. It was set and then it started accelerating for no reason. I reset it and was fine. It did the same thing later that day but now it cant be set....

The problem is with the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). It made be malfunctioning or may just need to be reset (disconnecting and reconnecting the battery). If it ends up being a bad PCM then bring it to the dealership and the PCM is covered under warranty for 8 years 80,000 miles.

Hope this helps.

Vehicle won't restart after driving for a while

You said it's runs fine, but it just won't start after driving a while. If thermostat or temp sensor was bad you'd be overheating. It sounds like a vapor lock. Good luck
