Question about 2wire 1800HG Router (RG1800HG00)
Can this router be configured as a WAP only using a cross over cable to get internet from another router
There is no wan port just a DSL phone line jack and 4 local eathernet ports and 1 usb port

Do not use a cross over cable, use a normal cat5 patch cable connected from one of the lan ports on the other router to the wan port of this router.
Configure this router to obtain ip address automatically (like it would be configured to connect to a cable ISP)
Turn off DHCP on this device.
That should do it. If it does not, let me know because some router want a static route configured.
If you want 2 seperate networks with internet access, leave the dhcp on but change the internal address so that it is different from the other router.
ie: if the other router is 192.168.0.1, this one can be 192.168.x.1 (where x is anything but 0)
