first of all the question:
Does enybody knows how casio's usb cable work or how it is build or what
magic is inside it ?
why am i asking ?
the story:
i've lost my usb cable, so i've bought new one for my casio qv-2400 (new
cable is not casio,it is other manufacturer), plugs looks the same as
old one, but i can't make it run. when connecting nothing happen. the
old one had worked perfectly, and i think there must be something inside
the cable that differ it from simple wire2wire cable (like normal usb
cable for printer or so).
thanks for any advice

reader Buy one of those that handles 5-6 different types at the
same time... You'll want to upgrade your camer or buy you a PDA, etc.
Eventually, you'll be like me and have darn near 1 of every memory
card around I've got MMC, SmartMemory, Memory Stick, Compact
Flash, and have readers for the Smart Memory, Compact Flash, and
Sony Memory Stick... (Actually, I have 2 for the Memory Stick, the
Compact Flash and Smart Memory cards are using this TV Device that has
a USB adapter on it... I also have another Smart Memory Card reader I
bought to sorta make absolute certain I don't have to use that cable
from the camera and waste batteries Those card readers are such a
dream No Drivers what soever, just plug them into the USB port and
the next available drive letter is your memory card

transfer, and you don't run down the camera batteries when transferring
images. Card readers can be as low as around $15. Make sure to
get the right type(does it use Compact Flash?).

Was the USB cable marked as being suitable for the casio?
All these camera manufacturers think their product is better than the rest
and so want you to keep buying their products, if you go down to the shop
and get a generic one for half the price, this won't please them at all
(look at the Fuji and Sony cases and see what a bunch of crap they are).
It could be the pin to pin wiring is different and as most connectors are
molded on these days (to avoid tension breaks) it's impossible to examine
the connections without and x-ray (see your friendly dentist?)
