Question about Epson AcuLaser C900 Printer

1 Answer

Error 6022 Thanks for your advice but the problem is not yet solved. As I said, I've already checked the photoconductor before posting my problem and I don't see any foreign material on it. Now it's worse, I'm getting an error 6022. Previous posting: There is a rectangular mark (the size of an address label) on each pageI'm printing. Before that, I did print some self-adhesive addresslabels. My hunch is that a label is possibly stuck somewhere in theprinter. I called Epson and they told me to check the photoconductorand transfer unit but I didn't find anything there. I followed all thepaper jam instructions but still no luck. Do you have any idea how Ican solve this problem? Thanks so much for your valuable assistance!

Our printer is saying it has stopped because the photoconductor kit has reached the end of its useful life.

You need to replace. It is also called the drum unit.

The second light keeps blinking and i have already replaced the photoconductor kit..

After replacing the photoconductor kit, you will need to reset the photoconductor page count. You can follow the instructions found on this link to reset the page count: http://bit.ly/9Voy5I or simply press and hold the CANCEL button while the printer is on and the front door cover is open. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

We have message to Replace Photocondutor. Is that toner? If not, s it self-install or do we call for Tech?

Most photoconductor assemblies are what they call "CRUs". That means that they are Customer Replaceable Units.

Check with the Ricoh web site "Support" to verify the installation process and order the part.

I swapped Photoconductors from 2 other 1710's; no go. Reset?

Problem
Dell 1700 printer prints out a page announcing that “the photoconductor has reached its useable life and it needs to be replaced for a new one”. You replace the photoconductor for a new one and the error light is still blinking and the printer keeps on printing the above mentioned page.
Solution
Steps to Reset the Photoconductor:
  1. Power off printer
  2. Open the front cover.
  3. Press the continue button; while pressing the continue button power on the printer and wait (still pressing the continue button) until the error led is solid, then release the continue button.
  4. Close the front door, all light should be solid.
  5. Wait until POST finishes.
  6. Press the Cancel button 4 times slowly, the toner led should be solid.
  7. Press the Continue button until all lights go up and down, then release; the Toner Low led is solid.
  8. Power off printer and then back on.
  9. Press continue button once, print a test page.
  10. Check the information about the photoconductor in test page, it should display an OK status.

Note: if these steps don’t work for the first time repeat three times. If still the steps don’t work, the printer needs to be replaced for a new one.

Is my Dell 1700 Laser Printer photoconductor drum truly fried?

The drum collects used toner for apprx. 30,000 pages. After that, the printer recommends that it be changed to prevent used toner from spilling internally into the printer's mechanisms. The whole photoconducter/drum can be replaced. The new part from Dell is apprx. $50.00 US.
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Printer_Accessories/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=310-8710#Overview

You might have reset the "counter" for the photoconducter. Ever  have a water  fillter with an electronic timer? You replace the filter, then you reset the timer? Perhaps you reset the timer without actually replacing the filter. So to speak. :)
The question you should ask yourself is: would I like to spend $30 - $60 [it's cheaper for refurbished parts- Google it] replacing the drum head on a 7 year old printer, or would I rather invest that in a new printer?

SC366 on CL4000DN

I just came across this post, you've likely solved it by now; However it is a "Toner density" error related to your cyan photoconductor. It is a defective connector. Replacing the cyan photoconductor should solve problem.
