Question about Printers & Copiers
SOURCE: I have an OCE Scanner
There could be a scratch on the white back ground / still remaining durt that is hard to clean. Open the lid and clean it's white background with a soft cloth. If the contamination is persistent, clean with a moist cloth and little soap. Then make sure to dry it with a soft dry cloth before closing the lid. Also clean both sides of the glass platen. Normally dry. When cleaned wet make sure no stripes remain on the glass platen. You can clean bottom side by lifting the glass platen on the back side. Then run the maintenance software. Should be installed on the PC where the scanner has been attached to. It will ask for the scanner calibration sheet (delivered with scanner). Do as aked by the program and the scanner should fine again.
Another possibility is Erase Parameter Blocks: Can be started from scanner maintenance program: Right click in the title bar and select Erase Parameter Blocks. Follow the instructions. Finally you need to recalibrate the scanner. The scanner maintenance program will instruct you to do so.
How old is the lamp? Sometimes I have to plug the scanner into a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) to fix a similar issue. Hope this helps.
