Hi
There are a number of things that can cause this. The most common as as follows.
1) Either your computer or wireless modem is being effected by mains interference. Make sure that all power cables are clear of your modem and computer, except those essential to run the units.

2) Your computer is picking up another local wireless modem signal on the same channel. Try changing channels.

3) Your modem drivers need updating. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver.

4) Your computer is too far away from your wireless modem.

There are numerous other reasons, but it is worth trying the obvious first. The most common of all is mains or power cable interference.

Connecting to the internet

Connecting to the Internet over broadband is a popular solution for connecting to the Internet today. Broadband is a much faster solution for connecting to the Internet when compared to a standard 56k modem. Having more bandwidth allows you to do more exciting things on the Internet, such as watch movies, listen to music, and playing games, as well as much faster load times for websites.
Unfortunately, broadband service is not available in all areas.
But I know one website mungi they will provide internet in all over the world.
It allows you to stream the latest movies and television, browse your favorite websites and communicate with family and friends from across the globe. For more details click the best nbn plans...

I have been told that there is no advantage in connecting to wireless broadband unless you are using a laptop computer. Is this so.

The speed of the internet the cable is faster than a wireless connection, the only advantage of wireless is that you don't have to run a cable to the computer to get internet. Hope it helps!

WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.
To secure your router with a login password and wireless security, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

Youe broadband router is working ok with the broadband cable. So it is configured with the broadband cable. Now,to work with the wireless internet, you have to configured the wi-fi router to work internet. You can see the wi-fi connection but unless & untill you will configure wi-fi router it must not work or if before it was working with the wi-fi then you can check the wi-fi router setting because it might change by mistake.Surely it will work after configurating wi-fi router.

Connecting the WAG160N to a Cable broadband supply

Yes, it will work. Hook it up like this:

Ethernet cable from the back of your cable modem to the internet port of the 160n. Any computer that will be wired to the internet will then run from the ethernet port in the back of the computer to one of the four ports on the 160 otherwise, using your wireless internet, the computer will be able to see the signal put out by the 160 and connect to it. Oh and please take a moment to rate this solution with a fixya rating. Thanks!
