Bought map of France from TomTom site. According to my software, it's installed and on my device. Want to plan a journey I'm taking in a couple of weeks but I can't find anywhere to enter French address details. Will I only be able to use the French map when my car is on French soil? HELP!

There is this problem with TomTom. Tom do not seem to overwrite the existing map file. So before trying to install the map, you need to delete the folder that contains the map. Once you have connected your TomTom to thecomputer, close the TomTom home window. Double click on my computer. You will see the TomTom hard drive as a drive (like you see the CD drive). Double click on that . Once the folders of the TomTom hard drive opens, look for a folder named USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P. (Please note: this name is for American continent. For others, this name will be different) Right click on it. click properties. Check whether the size of this folder is approximately around 1.3 GB to 1.5 GB. This is just to make sure we have the correct folder. After confirming this is the map folder, copy this folder to your computer for back up purpose. Once you have it safely in your computer, delete this folder from the TomTom hardrive. Go back to TomTom home software. Use the map guarantee to update/Upgrade the new map. You will see this time around the installation completes without a problem.
Since you TomTom only has a 1 gb flash drive you will have to remove the map of England to put the map of France on your TomTom One Third Edition. Make sure you make a backup of your map of England or you will have to purchase a new map of England Do not use TomTom Home to do this simply make a new folder on your desktop. Connect your TomTom to the PC. Next go to "My Computer" and open the drive of your TomTom. After opening the drive of your TomTom copy your map of England and paste it into the new folder you made on your desktop. When you are ready to put the map of England back onto your TomTom just copy and paste the map of France into the new folder and copy and paste the map of England back into your TomTom.
