Hi, I tried to replace the tail light blinker yesterday, and took off the light housing, but couldn't figure out how to separate the plastic to replace the light. Any suggestions?
Laura E;
Most tail light housings use the same approach. The bulb is removed from the housing by twisting
the back of the bulf where the wires are. Usually the bulb itself has a rubber back and turning it about a quarter turn counterclockwise (remember lefty=loosey; righty = tighty) will release the bulb it from the taillight housing. Take the bulb with you when you go for a replacement to be sure you get the right one.
The bulb will only fit one way into its socket and the socket will only fit one way into the housing.
Good luck ,

Yes, I do have two tail lights that turn and pop out, but those are my reverse lights. The housing to my bigger lights screws off of the trunk and come off completely, if you disconnect the wires. So, I guess I don't have direct access to the bulbs without disconnecting the light housing. Am I wrong in thinking this? I was asking one of the gents at Auto Zone how to get to the blinker bulbs, and he directed me to take off the housing....perhaps he was wrong? Help!
Sorry, blinker replacement is my problem. I have two twist and pop out lights and they are (reverse lights). My problem is finding how to change the blinker lights, as they aren't twist and pop out. Make sense?
tail light housing in trunk has a burned out bulb and there is no way i can see to get at it. i have taken the unit off of the trunk. don;'t tell me that they glued the two pieces together after installing the bulb.
