Tail light blinker replacement

Hi, I tried to replace the tail light blinker yesterday, and took off the light housing, but couldn't figure out how to separate the plastic to replace the light.  Any suggestions?

    Yes, I do have two tail lights that turn and pop out, but those are my reverse lights. The housing to my bigger lights screws off of the trunk and come off completely, if you disconnect the wires. So, I guess I don't have direct access to the bulbs without disconnecting the light housing. Am I wrong in thinking this? I was asking one of the gents at Auto Zone how to get to the blinker bulbs, and he directed me to take off the housing....perhaps he was wrong? Help!

    Sorry, blinker replacement is my problem.  I have two twist and pop out lights and they are (reverse lights).  My problem is finding how to change the blinker lights, as they aren't twist and pop out.  Make sense?

Laura E;

Most tail light housings use the same approach. The bulb is removed from the housing by twisting
the back of the bulf where the wires are. Usually the bulb itself has a rubber back and turning it about a quarter turn counterclockwise (remember lefty=loosey; righty = tighty) will release the bulb it from the taillight housing. Take the bulb with you when you go for a replacement to be sure you get the right one.
The bulb will only fit one way into its socket and the socket will only fit one way into the housing.

Good luck ,

    I'm a little confused. The lead sentence ih your initial submittal was "tail light blinker replacement"
    In your reply to my comments you talk about reverse lights. Then you say the gents at Auto Zone
    directed you totake off the housing to get to the blinker lights

    Can you clarify for me

In those years of chevy trucks they have circuit board in the tail light assembly. You will need to replace the circuit board ( the thing the bulbs push into) you can perchase one at your local auto parts store.

Drivers side rear blinker light needs replaced

Open the tail gate, and you will see on the side of the tail light housing two screws that you will need to unscrew in order to take the housing out. If it is the tail light ,that is on the actual gate, open the tail gate and remove the plastic bed liner there are few of screws that need to be removed. Hope this helps you fix it.

2007 dodge ram 4.4 beeps when i press the brake pedal but the tail light is out on the left side also. And when you turn on the left blinker it goes crazy fast and no light in the light assembly. Help?

If you have a beebing noise every time you press on the brake, it is because a tail light is burnt out. There are two filaments in each brake light. Therefore, when you turn on your hazards, it will appear that both tail lights work properly. The beebing warning sound is actually a feature that Dodge put in the Rams so drivers would know their tale light is out. Just replace the tail light bulb, and the beebing will automatically cease. To get the tail light housing out, you will need a torex screw driver. Also, you twist the bulb housing out as opposed to pulling it out. There are three prongs that twist out.
