Question about Electrolux Refrigerators

1 Answer

To Whom It May Concern!!! We purchased a Frost Free Upright Freezer in June,2008. The model # FFH2067DW7 and the Ser. # WB82136684. After approx. a month we noticed there was frost accumalating between the top of the door and the Freezer where it closes. We called you people for a replacement and you insisted on sending a repairman. One Co. refused to do the work you recommended, because it was too involved. You sent the "Appliance Dr." here in the Oklahoma City area, to do some repairs. They came out and put insulation in the door and it would't even close. Now they say they are waiting on a part called "a buzzer." (whatever that is) That was 2 weeks ago and they told us it would only take a few days. After numerous calls to the repair Co. and to Electolux Service Dept. We still don't have a working freezer. We just want the Electolux Co. to know you are not abiding by "The Lemon Law." If we don't get any satisfaction in the repair or replacement by Nov. 1,2008 we are contacting the Better Business Bureau on "Electrolux" and "The Appliance Dr" for unsatisfactory service, and turning it over to our Lawyer. We have been out the inconvience of a Freezer and rental of a freezer to store our food in for almost 3 months, while we wait on you people. We have made numerous calls to you and we keep getting the "run Around" Our reference service number is# 80441075. Would you please check this out for us and see what is going on. We have always held your company in high esteem and are very disappointed in your service or actually "Lack of Service" in this matter. We will be waiting to hear from you!!!!! Mr & Mrs William A. Is my Dometic refrigerator/freezer suppose to be frost free?

Hi Mrs Sandy! With regards to your concern, I believe that specific model of Domestic Refrigerator is not exactly a "no-frost" fridge, although it has a technology to reduce or prolong the time before it actually accumulate "frost" in its cavity.

Why freezer doesnt turn on

If it is a frost free model, the defrost timer could be stalled in defrost. Other than that the thermostat could be the problem.

in looking up your model mqu1554aew. i cked the wiring and this is a plane jane freezer it is not frost free and running the temp at 5 deg is a good tempt for the freezer . now you stated that the shelves frost up rght a -way . so i would think that the door seal is not sealing . and the compressor is running 24 /7 . it should get cold and shut off and run times should be at 45 to 50 % .. so take a dollar and close it in the seal in different places and ck the tennsion if low or none its leaking . also look for the door and should be square to the cabnet . and also level . hope this helps mm feed back pls .

Food defrosted in top of upright freezer

Hello,

Sounds like a defective defrost timer

If its a frost free upright freezer and the evaporator is frosting up with a snow like frost you have a defrost problem.. defrost thermostat, heaters, or trimmer

Dirty condenser coils are not the problem. It's most likely the defrost timer or defrost heater. The heater should come on about 3 times per day to melt the ice on the evaporator coils. If the defrost timer is not turning on the heater or the heater is burnt out, the coils will freeze up

Hope this helpout and Good luck

Ice build-up on the inside top of of freezer door

This is a problem that the factory has released a bulletin on.They have released new hinges, and insulation for inside the door. So far I've only seen the bulletin for Kenmore upright freezers made by Frigidaire. Since it is a Kenmore the bulletin is a Sears Service Flash but the units are identical. For sears its SF46-517. They may extend the service to Frigidaire units but you'll have to contact Frigidaire about that.

We just purchased a new upright freezer. It has been plugged in and running for six hours now and it remains hot inside. What is the problem?

Hi,
If it is a frost-free model, it may have started it's defrost cycle. Ths is only for about an half an hour or less.

It should be cold within 12 hours when set to the required temperature.

If not, please contact here again before rating - as I can suggest other options. Thanks
