Will not turn on

It won't turn on.  I don't know if I have warranty coverage with it or not under the manufacturers warranty but it just won't turn on.  The power light turns green for a second, then goes right back to red.

The 12 volt power supply is bad. Go to ebay look for 120 volt ac input and 12 dc output @5 amps.
The output plug is 5.5mm x 2.1mm in size. Look at polarity symbol to be sure the + is the center hole. They are about $16.00.

Correction, the dc plug dimension is 2.5mm for the center hole not 2.1mm.

    Sorry for the mix up.

sounds like you have a bad back light inverter board and it needs to be replaced. if it is still under warranty then try to get the manufacture to repair it for you. just don't tell them its from a possible power surge. check sharp's web site for more info. i think vizio is made by sharp electronics.

My sanyo 46 inch dp42848 will turn on but turns off with in 3 seconds please help

If the unit is not far out of warranty I advise contacting the manufacturer to obtain a possible parts or labour only warranty coverage, if not, your other option is removing the back of the unit and check for any faulty capacitors on the power supply printed circuit board. I hope this helps. Good luck.

There is a 1/8" blue-green line running from top to bottom of the screen. It's about 6-7 inches from the left edge of the screen. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? It seems to be permanent.

There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If the TV is under warranty—whether the original warranty from the manufacture or an extended warranty purchased with the TV—call the company providing the warranty coverage and they will arrange to have your TV repaired at little, or no cost to you.

Since some brands will pay for your repair even if you're out of warranty, especially if they've heard of your problem before and it's a known issue, you should always contact the manufacture first for your full range of options. If they're willing to fix the TV for free, or at a reduced cost to you, let them!

If the TV is out of warranty, and you have the experience and you know what you're doing, you can fix the TV yourself. Purchase the service manual from the manufacture to get started. However, if you've never done anything like this type of repair before and you don't know where to start, I suggest speaking with an experienced TV repair-person.

If you decide to pay for out of warranty repair by a professional repair shop, the total cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today!

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

No screen display - VIzio 50" Flat screen TV

If you purchased the TV 6 months ago, still under manufacturers warranty. They normally give customers 1 year warranty coverage.
It looks like the main board will have to be replace on this TV or fix to the component level.
