Casio g'zone phone with broken screen main screen.

This is most likely a broken data ribbon. It is a few very thin wires that connects the mother board of the phone to the screen and can easily break with flip phones. It can be replaced and new data ribbon is cheap.

When i open my phone the inside screen does not display anything its black. the front screen is fine but not the inside screen, the inside one has no display. how can i fix it?

Hi this is a very common problem with all flip and slide phones and even laptops and notebooks, the problem is to do with the data ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board in the bottom of the phone.
now inside this ribbon are several single strand copper wires and over time open and closing the phone causes these to break and you then lose the connection with the screen.

as this is such a common fault it makes the part itself cheap to buy and cheap to get fitted. it isnt something you can do your self as you need specialist tools to take the phone apart and to fit the data ribbon.

if you want it repaired the cheapest place would be one of those small independent phone shops as the bigger one will have to send it off and you will be charged extra for this, the smaller phone shop should be able to fix it whilst you wait or the next day at the latest.

its up to you if you think the phone is worth getting fixed then it wont cost much to get done.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

The top screen on my ds lite is white. What can i Do to fix this? Everything else still works.

Hi this is a very common problem with all ds's and phones that flip and slide, the problem is with the ribbon that connects the top screen to the circuit board in the bottom, now every time you open and close the ds this ribbon bends so as it keeps the connection with the screen.

now inside this ribbon is several single strand copper wires and over time these become brittle and then one or two will break, now as this is such a common problem it makes the part cheap to buy and cheap to have fitted, all you need to do is take it into a computer repair shop or some phone shops offer this service as well and ask them to replace this ribbon, they should be able to do it whilst you wait and if not it should be done the next day.

this is a cheap repair to have done so it is worth getting it fixed.

White screen - how do I fix that

Hi i must answer at least 10 of these a day with the white screen problem,
first of all this is a very common problem with all flip and slide phones and even laptops and netbooks.
now the problem is to do with the data ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board this data ribbon is a thin ribbon that has several single strand copper wires running through it now when you open and close your phone this ribbon bends so as it keeps the connection with the screen.
over time these copper wires become brittle and break and this is what giving you the white screen

the only way to solve the problem is to get this ribbon replaced now as its such a common fault then this makes the part cheap to buy and cheap to get fitted, how ever its not something you can do yourself as you need special tools to remove and refit the ribbon.

your best and cheapest option is to take your phone to a small phone shop and ask them to replace this screen ribbon for you its such a common fault and that makes it a cheap part to get replaced.

so if you want to keep using the phone then it means your going to need to get this part replaced once you have got this part replaced you will have no problems using your phone.

Switch on the phone and the screen stays white crystals..?

Hi, this is a very common problem with all flip and slide phones and even laptops and netbooks, now the problem you are having is with the data ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board.

now every time you slide or open the phone this thin ribbon bends so it keeps the connection with the screen now over time the little one strand copper wires that run inside the ribbon become brittle and break. then this causes the screen to lose the data being sent to it.

the good news is the phone is working and would be worth getting fixed, now as this is such a common problem it makes the part cheap to buy and cheap to have fitted, the best place to have this done is one of those small phone shops as the big branded ones will have to send your phone off and they will charge for this, if you go to a small high street phone shop they should be able to repair it whilst you wait or at least by the next day.

How do i get my i885 off of airplane mode it wont let me do nothing it only shows a white screen

Hi the white screen is not due the it being on flight mode, the reason you have got a white screen is due to a data ribbon breaking, let me explain

their is a thin piece of ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board in the bottom of the phone, now inside this ribbon is several one strand copper wires, these send the signal from the circuit board to the screen, now when you open and close the phone this ribbon bends so as it keeps the signal with the screen at all tiems, now over time the copper wires inside this ribbon become brittle and break and this is what causes the white screen, its just a loss of data.

you know the phone is working as you have a white screen but you wont be able to do anything as you cant see what the hell your doing.

the good news is as this is such a very common problem on all flip and slide phones it makes the part very cheap to buy and cheap to have fitted, once this ribbon has been replaced your phone will be working again as normal.

all the flight mode does is put your phone into a none working state but you would still be able to see the screen and play games etc so this is not the cause of your problem, you need to get this data ribbon replaced, the best place to have this done is go to a small phone shop and not a big branded one as the big shops will send your phone off and this will cost you more.

if you go to a small high street phone shop and ask them to repair it for you they should be able to repair it whilst you wait or next day at the latest.

When I turn my phone on the screen goes white

Hi, this is a common problem, now the cause is going to be one of two things if its a slide or flip phone then the problem is more than likely going to be with the small ribbon data cable that sends the data from the circuit board to the screen, this ribbon has really fine copper wires inside it and these become damaged when the phone is opened or slides open.

if your phone is not a flip or slide phone then the problem is going to more than likely be the connection between the screen and the circuit board, it may have been dropped or got damp and this has caused the problem you have.

now the bad news is their is no easy fix that you can do yourself its going to be a case of new parts, now if its the ribbon then this is common fault so they are cheap to buy and to fit if its the screen connection then the chances are the screen needs replacing this will cost slightly more.

most phone shops will do this repair whilst you wait, if you go to a small phone shop and not a big branded one then you may find these will have a second hand screen that they could fit and this would save you more money, the ribbon costs next to nothing so this is not a problem.

you cant do this repair yourself as it needs special tools and the know how to remove an refit, the phone may also need the firmware flashing so it resets the phone to accept the new ribbon

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Does Pioneer still offer FREE replacement screen ribbon cables??

Yes they will replace the ribbon cable for free for only one time. but if you did the bypass mod they will unmod it and charge you $200 for doing it. In that case you better of send it to that guy Rich with Same Day Audio Service on Ebay, he will fix it with his company manufactured milspec ribbon cable for I think $85. His cables are much higher quality than Pioneer's and come with a free lifetime warrantee if you have it perform by him or you can purchase the cable from him and put it in by yourself but he won't guarantee it if you do. It not very hard to do if you are a little bit technical incline. I bought a few cables and replaced them myself with the Ribbon Cable Exhausted Tutor Guide on AVIC411.com, but I have figured out a much easier way to do it. Let me know if you need help. Goodluck to you.

Call Pioneer. This is a Ribbon cable issue that they are well aware of. It has happened to counless units and they offer a free one time fix for this issue. I dont know that they will honor it because you didnt buy it from a dealer but its worth a shot man. Good luck.
