Question about Zebra LP 2844 Thermal Printer

Printer won't print

I have a Zebra LP 2844-Z which has been working fine. This morning I have come in and attempted to use it and it only prints about 1/2 inch of the bar code and stops. It also has a green flashing light. The light blinks twice each time. What can I do?

Zebra 2844 Printer was fine...unplugged USB then plugged into a different port on the same computer now it won't print. Says error in the printing status. It is not offline or paused.

This is due to windows which has attributed a new virtual usbport.
Go to the printer port and try another one (the last one for example)

You can also go into your printing preferences and change the intensity or darkness of the printing. This fixed the problem for us. Good luck!

Zebra LP 2844 printer will not print anything but the test page

possibly not a real LP2844 but an LP2543, a printer mass produced for and used by UPS. refurbishers change the label and sell as LP2844 because they are almost identical.
if it has an AC-AC adapter, it is an LP2543. LP2844 uses a AC-DC adapter, and all LP2844's have USB ports.

Zebra LP 2844 prints blanks

If the printer is printing nothing but blanks, try another roll of labels.

If the printer is printing blanks in between labels, it probably needs to be gap sensed. You can do this by:
1. turn the printer off.
2. hold the feed button down and then power the printer back on while still holding the feed button down.
3. release the feed button when the light flashes.
4. the printer will then regap itself
5. when the regapping is done, press the feed button once. It will print on the label that it is 'out of dump'
6. the printer should then be ready to go.
