Probably have active pickups on the guitar.
if there's a plate on the back, get a small phillips screwdriver, take the plate off, and put a new 9 volt battery in.

I just had this thing running maybe a month ago no problems nothing working great. now about a month later its turning on then going off i seriously am retarded when it comes to this **** i had it hooked...

Hello bloodyspokes, For the amp to go immediately into protection, something is probably shorted, grounding out, or not grounding properly. First, remove and check the 40A onboard fuse just left of the power/ground/remote terminals. If the fuse is OK, disconnect the speaker wires and try powering up. If it powers up OK, check the speakers and wiring. If it doesn't, disconnect the inputs and try again. Check the grounds of both the amp and your receiver. If these check OK and the amp is still not powering up properly, it's most likely an internal component failure and the amp needs service. Hope this helps.

Perfect ten bass amp, guitar

can you use headphones? if so do they sound normal. probably have bad filter caps. 2200uf caps big ones, go bad and lose their capacitance and cant process the low end notes, sounds like a motorboat or ******* out. speaker may have issues as well. get the caps from mouser.com and careful of stored voltage on the capacitors it is deadly....... those caps are less than 2 bucks each.

Are you using the right fuse? If so, the amp could easily be fried. Thats what my friends guitar amp did when it fried.

Guitar Problem I Think.

First check your guitar to amp cord.
The pickup, audio jack, or pickup selection switch may be defective.

Problem with pickup on guitar washburn d46

Hello woizo,

The windings of the pickup might be bad. Basically these are magnetic pickups that take the string vibrations and by using transducers converts the vibrations into electrical energy and the by using preamplifier's and finally a main amplifier it takes the electrical energy and then turns it into sound. It sounds like in your case the pickups need to be repaired or replaced.

Now I would check the amplifier first and the run a test on the output of the guitar to make sure the potentiometers (volume, tone, etc) are ok. If these are ok then I would really suspect the pickups.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Ashdown Perfect 10 Bass Combo keep blowng 2 man fuses

What main fuses? Fuses in the car electrical system? If so, your amp is too powerful to run through the cars electrical system, you should get a heavy guage wore ran straight from the battery, with its own dedicated fuse placed in-line, ad close to the battery as possible. Wait, is this a bass guitar combo??? Open it up, if there's wax coming from the power supply, thats prolly the culprit. Check for any obviously blown resistors or any short circuits. But most likely, its not gonna be user-servicable.

Guitar Amp trouble...... Gets power but either no sound or very little.

Your problem sounds very similar to mine. I have a Marshal that does the same thing. It gets power but either no sound comes out or it's fragmented and buzzing. I took the circuit board out and found that a fuse had pulled/been knocked loose and was hanging free. If you take your amp apart, make sure you unplug it first. You're going to be be looking for something that look likes a small lego that suspended above the circuit board by wires coming out of both ends. If ones of these wires has pulled free then that's your problem. You can temporarily fix it by pressing the wire back into the circuit board and placing electrical tape over the top of the fuse to hold it all in place. If you do this, however, you can't play loud or it will rattle loose again and you don't really get more than about 10 minutes of play time. I'm about to solder mine whenever the guns arrives, so I'll let you know if this is a DIY project or not.
