I am trying to install "Canon Fax INF Driver v8.60 for 64-Bit Windows 7 Server 2008 Server 2003 XP Vista" driver downloaded from Canon's support site. None of fax machines referenced during the driver install include the LC730. Which fax machine am I to use that will allow the 730 to function correctly? I have installed the printer drivers for the 730 and the unit works correctly as a printer. Nick

On Vista machine, Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.
Choose
Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the
drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.
A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the \\computer name\printer name

if canon has a windows 7 driver, go ahead and say yes. it is just saying that it doesn't recognize it and it may not be compatible. If there is no windows 7 driver, use the one for Vista. The ones that run on Vista are 99% running on 7. It's a great program. Make sure you download the correct bit though, either 7 32BIT or 64 BIT, this is important! (alternatively, use vista 32 or 64 if needed)

Did you download the latest drivers from the website? It looks like they were posted this month. I would report the issue. It is quite likely there is a compatibility issue. Have you contacted canon at all about this problem? Once I have more information I can try and assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee

the "mpmaster.ex_" file is a compressed file. It must be decompressed before it can be run.
